Mexican actor and singer Adan Canto has died. He was 42.

Multiple media outlets reported Canto's death this week, with his representative sharing a short tribute message via The Messenger.

"Adan had a depth of spirit that few truly knew. Those who glimpsed it were changed forever," the rep said.

What Was Adan Canto's Cause of Death?

According to reports, Canto passed away after his private battle with appendiceal cancer. It remains unknown when exactly he was diagnosed with the dreaded illness.

The National Cancer Institute defines appendiceal cancer as a type of cancer that forms in the person's appendix and grows from its cells. The diagnosis is so rare that only one or two per 1 million per year in the U.S. get affected by it.

Among the symptoms include pain, feeling bloated, nausea, feeling full after eating, mass in the abdomen and vomiting.

Canto's representative expressed their heartbreak after the recent loss as they looked back at his career and recent appearances.

"Most recently, he lit up the screen in The Cleaning Lady with a powerful performance that showcased his artistry, range, depth and vulnerability," the message continued. "This is an unfathomable loss, and we grieve alongside his wife, Stephanie, their children and loved ones. We will miss Adan dearly."

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Ann Canto, and their two kids: Roman Alder and Eve Josephine.
