It has a release date set for Feb. 5, 2016, so the people behind the documentary are sharing some of these songs this week online. You can listen to an unreleased, solo version of "Plainclothes Man," a song from Smith's former band Heatmiser, and a rare track entitled "True Love," both off of the new soundtrack, below. -
Timbaland Will Partner With La La Anthony for Real Life 'Empire' Hip-Hop Docuseries
Fox hit show 'Empire' may have some competition around the corner from Timbaland and La La Anthony. The two are set to partner with Leftfield Entertainment for a real life hip-hop docuseries in the vein of Empire. Anthony will be named executive producer with CEO David George, Will Nothacker and Derek Gordon of Leftfield Entertainment, while Timbaland will be executive producer of music on the show. -

BBC Radio 1 was thrown into flux when their head of music George Ergatoudis announced in December that he was leaving the radio station to Spotify to head a new music division in the UK. The search for his replacement has ended and BBC has chosen former head of music for Last.fm Chris Price to take the same position at BBC Radio 1 & 1xtra. -

On Tuesday (Jan. 27), a Twitter battle of epic proportions waged on after Wiz Khalifa made the mistake of voicing his displeasure over Kanye West renaming his forthcoming album Waves instead of Swish. West then viewed a tweet about "kk" as a reference to his wife Kim Kardashian, and went on a lengthy Twitter rampage taking aim at Khalifa's music, his ex Amber Rose and son.
