    Six months down and six months to go: Music Times just can't wait until the end of 2015 to release its list of the best songs released this year, so we're giving you a free preview with our midyear favorites. We left no stone unturned, considering music from the East Coast (A$AP Rocky), West Coast (Kendrick Lamar) and the Central Coast (Kanye West)...rock both electric and acoustic...fashions from miniskirts (Braids) to Mexican Lucha Libre masks (The Mountain Goats).

  • OMI 'Cheerleader' Knocks Wiz Khalifa 'See You Again' from No. 1 on Hot 100

    The times, they are a changin'. Today (July 13) marks the first time in its history that Billboard has released its charts on a Monday (following the implementation of a universal Friday release date), and with the new chart date, we have a new No. 1. After weeks of vaulting up the charts, OMI's crossover reggae hit "Cheerleader" has unseated longtime chart topper "See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa at the top spot.

  • 50 Cent Declares Bankruptcy After Losing Lawsuit Brought by Lastonia Levinson

    Things were all good just a week ago for Hip Hop mogul and rapper 50 Cent, a.k.a. Curtis Jackson. After antagonizing just about everyone in the Hip Hop community, especially nemesis Rick Ross, it appears that the self proclaimed funny man is no longer laughing after being ordered by a judge to pay out $5 million dollars in punitive damages to Lastonia Levinson, the mother of Rick Ross' child, after uploading a sex tape of her back in 2009. 3 days after the verdict was handed down, Jackson has now filed for Chapter 11 citing bankruptcy.

    While some artists have begun to close the chapter of their time spent with Cash Money Records, such as Turk, who recently settled with former label home for undisclosed amount, Lil Wayne still remains at war with parent label and long-time affiliate Bryan "Birdman" Williams. Now he has had an awkward run-in with Williams this past Sunday at Club LIV in Miami.

    Over the last year, Cash Money Records has been in dire financial straits, which has been ever apparent in the frustrations voiced by its artists, especially its marquee artist Lil Wayne. In an attempt for former Hot Boys rapper Young Turk to get payment in full for royalties due, he sued Cash Money records for $1.3 million back in February and has now settled the lawsuit.

    Demi Lovato is encouraging all of her Lovatics to love the skin they're in and be confident. Yesterday (July 12), the "Cool for the Summer" singer posted a special body-positive message on her Instagram telling people to love their curves like she love hers, with a little bit of help from boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama.
