• Wale Announces Seinfeld Inspired 'Festivus' Project Featuring A-Trak

    Many artists are getting into the holiday spirit and Wale is joining the party. Taking a slightly different approach to the holiday season, Wale is calling up a familiar influence of his, the incredibly popular 90s sitcom Seinfeld. In a short teaser clip, Wale previews what is to be a new project dropping on Dec. 23 with Canadian DJ / producer A-Trak titled "Festivus." Wale does not give any hints at what the project is, if it might be a mixtape, a video or just a song, but either way, fans should expect new Wale music very soon.

    Apparently they didn't watch the recent season ending efforts from South Park, which lampooned hologram performances and the current state of the music industry, or maybe they couldn't see past the dollar signs: Hologram USA is reportedly working hand in hand with the Liberace Foundation for The Performing and Creative Arts to create a hologram version of the pianist for a feature-length Las Vegas show.

    Katy Perry will make sure to hit Australia during her next world tour as well, and hit it hard. The pop star played an impressive 23 dates during her recent run on the "Prismatic" tour and sold more than 350,000 tickets along with breaking some individual arena numbers along the way. She's now the all-time record holder for a stretch of shows at Allphones Arena in Sydney, where she sold out six gigs, a total of 89,500 tickets.

    News broke yesterday that Bobby Shmurda (whose birth name is Ackquille Pollard) had been arrested at Manhattan's Quad Studios, the same site where Tupac was first show 20 years ago, along with several members of his GS9 crew. Today the public has learned what he has been charged with. The "Hot N-a" rapper has been charged with reckless endangerment in the second degree, conspiracy in the second degree, three counts of conspiracy in the third degree, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree and one count of criminal possession of drug paraphernalia (intent to sell and possession of narcotics).

    Brooklyn indie rock veterans TV On The Radio have shared the music video for their track "Lazerray." The black and white video features the band performing in a skate park, and features appearances by pro skaters such as Eric Koston, Lance Mountain, Sean Malto, and Andrew Reynolds.

    Electronic funk/disco duo Chromeo comprised of David Macklovitch (Dave 1), brother to A-Trak, and Patrick Gemayel (P-Thugg) have been making noise for well over a decade, but it wasn't until their fourth artist album "White Woman" hit shelves this past May that things really started to take off. In conjunction with the album being released, the "Jealous" duo have released a video with Noisey, part of the Vice network, showing the long process of creating their album. They take fans behind the scenes into studios in New York and Los Angeles as they argue over minute details of vocals, writing sessions and learn about their influences as artists.

Dequantes Lamar, better known as Rich Homie Quan, has teamed up with XXL to sing "Silent Night" and "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer."
