    A few weeks ago, Amy Adams made news because her scheduled interview with "The Today Show" was abruptly canceled on the spot as the actress waited in the green room. She was scheduled to promote her latest film, "Big Eyes," on the morning show, and when she did not want to discuss the Sony hacking scandal, then producers informed her that her interview was not going to happen after all. Imagine how awkward it must have been on the red carpet of the Golden Globe Awards when Savannah Guthrie and Matt Lauer had to interview Adams! Whatever bad blood may have existed was not present when the three chatted. In fact, it all felt friendly, leading us to think that amends must have been made behind the scenes after the scandal grabbed headlines. Harvey Weinstein, the producer of "Big Eyes," was pushing hard for the network to apologize to Adams, and it looks like it must have happened. NBC had wanted the actress to comment on the leaked Sony emails, the one in particular that divulged that she and Jennifer Lawrence had earned significantly less than their male co-stars in "American Hustle." Adams did not want to be part of that dialogue and also mentioned that Bradley Cooper had just done an interview with "Today" and was not asked about Sony, so she felt that it should be fine for her not to be grilled as well. Adams later admitted that she really did not understand what had happened or why on earth her interview had been canceled.

    Who doesn't love Andy Cohen? He is the mastermind behind the "Real Housewives" franchise on Bravo and he also hosts "Watch What Happens: Live" each night. Cohen started at CBS as a producer and found his way over to Bravo after about 10 years in the business. He recently did an interview for "Entertainment Weekly" that revealed some pretty interesting details. Like the fact that "Watch What Happens: Live" is styled after Dick Cavett's old talk show and how Cohen taps into the old stuff to help guide his development decisions at Bravo now. He also talked about how many shows on the network have started off slow and picked up momentum by the end of their first season. Very rarely has there been an instant hit and, believe it or not, the "Housewives" franchise almost never existed! Cohen explained that there were so many production problems and other issues after filming the first season of "The Real Housewives of Orange County" that it was almost canceled as soon as the season finished airing. Had it been killed, then we would have never met the ladies from New York City, New Jersey, Atlanta, Miami and Beverly Hills. I mean, it's no secret: I've had some challenging companionship. I think hitting a wall with that really kind of [helped me grow]. I found a great therapist. Not to sound too 'woo woo,' but I think the self-love piece was really important. And spending a lot of time alone. Having time to ask myself why there was such toxicity in my immediate space at times. Why would I attract that instead of light?" explains Aniston.

    It may be several days since "Today" abruptly decided to cancel Amy Adams's interview, but the dust has yet to settle. The actress was scheduled to sit for an interview promoting her new Harvey Weinstein film "Big Eyes," but when she told staffers that she would rather not comment on the Sony hacking, her segment was canceled, leaving Adams baffled. Weinstein has demanded the network issue a formal apology to one of his favorite actresses, and his company has reportedly been locked in negotiations with NBC executives for days. As for Adams, she still does not understand what actually happened. At the Los Angeles premiere of her film, she told reporters she was actually prepared to do the interview when "Today" pulled the plug on it instead. "I expressed that I was uncomfortable. I said I would rather not add my voice to this conversation. But it was clear they were drawing a hard line. That this would be part of the conversation. I walked away from the conversation and went up to the room to do the interview. I assumed they were going to ask me about [the Sony hacking]. And I was prepared for that, to whatever degree I was prepared. I was informed that they had decided to pull the interview. I was confused and definitely frustrated. I still don't understand," explained Adams.

Fallon is the entertainment and the reason that people are tuning in to "The Tonight Show" on a regular basis. The guest stars are kind of like icing on the cake. "Entertainment Weekly" got it right in naming Fallon the 2014 Entertainer of the Year, and as it turns out, even Jay Leno agrees. It was rumored at first that NBC was shoving Leno out to make room for Fallon, but there was never any animosity between these two. Instead, Leno took his exit with a shred of grace and now he gets the appeal of Fallon just like all the rest of us. Leno told "EW" in an interview: "I don't watch every night, but I watch and I enjoy — and I enjoy Seth [Meyers], too. Jimmy's a really great mimic. When I saw him do Neil Young, I just thought he was lip-syncing the song. But no — he really captures the nuances really well. It's different. Everybody has their strengths and weaknesses. I could never do a musical parody — it's just not what's in me. You know, I got out at the right time. When you're 40 and you're talking to the 25-year-old supermodel, it's sexy. When you're 64, you're the creepy old guy, you know? At some point, you can't pretend to know all of Jay-Z's music. You can only live in the time you live in."

    Did you catch Ray Rice's interview with Matt Lauer yesterday on "Today"? The sit-down interview had actually been booked with Janay Rice, and it gave her an opportunity to finally speak about that horrific night in Atlantic City last February when Ray knocked her out cold in an elevator. The couple had been dealing with their issues semi-privately until the surveillance video went viral last September, and the fallout has been huge. Janay answered all sorts of questions about their relationship and insisted that her now-husband has never laid a finger on her other than this one time. Supposedly, Ray came home near the end of her interview and decided to appear on camera. Perhaps NBC thought it would feel more impromptu and less strategically planned if Lauer talked to the couple while standing in their kitchen. Once they all settled in around the island, Rice insisted that they have only had this one bad night together, and unfortunately there is video to document it. He also claims that working is not his biggest concern right now. Ray told Lauer: "The big deal is for me to always protect her, and that's why I said I take full responsibility. She can do no wrong. This is something, you know, as a man you have to own and, we're horribly sorry, and I'm horribly sorry for everything that I have to put my family through. I still got to live every day, go take my daughter to school. She's going to grow up and the way the Internet works now she's going to Google her father's name and the first thing that's going to come up is, you know what's going to come up."

CNN's Don Lemon and Anderson Cooper as well as NBC's Matt Lauer all met with Wilson before he finally decided to sit down and talk on the record with ABC's George Stephanopoulos. As it turns out, perhaps the person most bent out of shape over Wilson's choice is "ABC World News Tonight" anchor David Muir. Apparently Muir believes that as the network's evening anchor, he should be the one who is in the running for the serious "gets," not just Stephanopoulos. Sources close to Muir dished on the fact that he is furious exclusively to Page Six.

She also gets real in the January 2015 issue of "Glamour," where she takes on that whole notion of being "America's sweetheart." "I certainly didn't self-identify as anyone's sweetheart. I'm friendly, but I don't think I'm sweet. I'm honest. I don't think I realized [in my 20s] that no one else makes you whole. You have to take responsibility for your own happiness. That took me until I was about 31 to know. It wasn't easy to realize, 'Oh, wait, I am purely responsible [for my life]' — no relationship, no children, no nothing is going to make you a happy person. Every day you have to choose to find and cultivate your own happiness," says Witherspoon.

    Last Friday, Nov. 28, Ray Rice's suspension from the NFL was lifted on an appeal, and apparently he was in the mood to celebrate. Rice was spotted hitting up Bounce Sporting Club in New York City late Saturday night. The fallen NFL star stayed chatting and chilling with fans until the wee hours of Sunday morning. According to a TMZ report, security attempted to keep the fans from bothering Rice, but he was loving the attention. Rumor has it his wife Janay Rice was also with him, but that has yet to be confirmed. We can tell you with certainty that Janay's interview with "Today's" Matt Lauer these past two days has been seen in part by nearly everyone. This morning's installment included Ray taking part in the interview while standing at a kitchen counter with Janay and her parents. He, of course, apologized for knocking his wife out last February in Atlantic City after a night of hard partying. He believes that therapy has really helped him and claims he is ready to sacrifice whatever is necessary to take care of his wife.

    After six months of silence, Janay Palmer Rice finally had a chance to sit down and address everything that has happened since Ray Rice knocked her out cold in an Atlantic City elevator earlier this year. Instead of splitting from Rice, she instead married him and has decided to support him, even once that surveillance tape went viral in September. Janay agreed to an interview with "Today's" Matt Lauer, in the hopes that people might understand how this one horrific instance of domestic violence does not define what her marriage is really like. Janay repeatedly called Rice's actions "a mistake" and reminded viewers at home that no one is perfect. She also insisted that, aside from this one incident, Rice has never been the least bit violent with her at all. She expressed serious upset at how the Baltimore Ravens organization treated them once it released Rice from his contract and believes that eventually he will be allowed to prove himself again in the NFL. Lauer also asked about what Rice told NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell when the incident first happened. Goodell has claimed that he never saw the tape until it went viral last September and that he had no idea how violent the altercation actually was. Janay balked at the notion that Rice might have minimized the attack, telling Lauer: "No. Not in any way. And, you know, I feel like if they wanted to know more details then they would have asked. But there were no further questions. It — it's been consistent with everything that he's been saying since February. I can't say he's telling the truth. You know? I know for a fact that he told — that Ray told the honest truth that he's been telling from February. So — I think they did what they had to do for themselves."

    Ray Rice finally won the war to preserve his career on Friday, and his suspension from the NFL has been lifted, effective immediately. That means that if Rice can find a team willing to sign his this late in the season he may actually get some play time in before the next Super Bowl. Back in early September an elevator surveillance video was released that showed Rice knocking his now-wife, Janay Palmer, out cold with one punch, then dragging her off the elevator. He was handed an indefinite suspension after NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell seemed to barely offer up a slap on the wrist last spring.

    Less than 24 hours after learning that there would be no indictment in the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown, we were all handed embattled Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson's first interview. While it was confirmed that Wilson had met with several journalists last week, he ultimately decided to speak on the record with ABC News heavyweight George Stephanopoulos, according to Yahoo! News. It was the first time Wilson has been seen in public in months, and he told his side of what happened during that violent altercation with Brown Aug. 9. According to "Time" magazine, Wilson claims that he feels like his conscience is cleared because he was doing his job by the book, and if he did not stop Brown, then he knew he would have been killed by him. He also made it clear that from his standpoint race was irrelevant and it would have ended the same way even if Brown had been white.

Brokaw took the time to ask Jolie about their new status as husband and wife after already spending a decade together.
