Everyone expected the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack to run away with this week's Billboard 200 chart...but then Drake happened. The emcee and his LP/mixtape If You're Reading This It's Too Late topped the list by moving 575,000 equivalent albums. The new metric for the chart, which takes streams into consideration, played to his favor as the album received more first-week streams than any other album in Spotify history. Among the other accomplishments that Drake managed to nab with his surprise album was becoming just the second hip-hop act to land his first four albums atop the Billboard 200 (the other is DMX). He quickly became the second bestselling performer for 2015 (behind Taylor Swift). -
Protests at Maroon 5 Concert in Atlanta Highlight Live Nation's Low Wages Paid to Stagehands
The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees will be protesting outside of a Maroon 5 concert in Atlanta on February 19, alleging that Live Nation mistreats stagehands operating in the Georgia capital. The group is labeling the behavior of the concert promoter in the city as a "bad performance." -
Maroon 5 Singer Adam Levine on Oscar Performance: "It's Such Rarified Air"
Maroon 5 singer and The Voice judge Adam Levine is not nominated for an Oscar this year, but he performed the song -- "Lost Stars," from Begin Again -- that got songwriters Gregg Alexander and Danielle Brisebois a nod at the Academy Awards on Feb. 22. -

It's still a month full of "Uptown Funk" on the Hot 100 this week. For the sixth consecutive week, Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' throwback Uptown Special single tops the Billboard Hot 100. Though it's been a great ride for the track, it may be over soon as two new songs from Rihanna and Ellie Goulding debut in the top 10 and two stars prep major music video debuts. -
Taylor Swift Tops Billboard 200 Again, Fifth Harmony Shows Up, Bob Dylan and Diana Krall Cover, Nicki Minaj Sets Interesting Mark
Taylor Swift and 1989 is at no. 1 in the Billboard 200 for the 11th time, tying Fearless for the performer's most weeks at the top of the charts with one album. The record shifted 108,000 equivalent units, a slight uptick from last week. 1989 is one of four albums that have spent at least ten weeks at no. 1 since 2010, the others being Fearless, the Frozen soundtrack as well as Adele's 21. Swift's album is followed this week by Now 53, the newest edition of the hits collection, at no. 2 with 99,000 units moved. -
Grammys 2015: Adam Levine and Gwen Stefani Team Up for Maroon 5's 'My Heart is Open' Performance [WATCH]
Adam Levine showed up sans Maroon 5 to share the stage with Gwen Stefani on his group's ballad "My Heart is Open." The tune is from the band's fifth album, V, which dropped in August. Levine and Stefani haven't been on television together since last year when they both coached The Voice. -
Taylor Swift Sets Records with '1989' on Billboard 200, While Maroon 5, Ne-Yo and Grammy Nominees Resurge
One week after a surge of new releases and the Billboard 200 has gotten back to the same ol' as Taylor Swift and 1989 reclaim the top spot on the charts. The album moved 101,000 equivalent albums as it earned its tenth week atop the Billboard 200 and the first time in three weeks. This makes Swift openly the second woman ever to have two separate albums that have spent at least 10 weeks at no. 1, with Whitney Houston being the other. -
Britney Spears, The Beatles and Kelly Clarkson: The Largest Jumps to No. 1 in Billboard Hot Hot 100 History
Kelly Clarkson set the current record for the largest one-week jump on the Hot 100 to no. 1 with her single "My Life Would Suck Without You." The record has changed hands only seven times over the last 50 years, including The Beatles, Britney Spears and T.I. All of them dominate 2014's biggest jump (Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" moving from no. 14 up to the top). -

And though it's a great week for the British producer, another new debut is coming hard for the charts: Maroon 5's "Sugar." -
Meghan Trainor and 'Title' Interrupt Taylor Swift's '1989' Party on Billboard 200, While Kidz Bop and Mark Ronson Debut in Top 10
The rate at which Taylor Swift has been at the top of the Billboard 200 has been chopped down to 75 percent this week as Meghan Trainor takes the crown with Title. The album moved 238,000 equivalent albums, marking the highest debut for any solo performer since Susan Boyle during 2009. The "All About That Bass" vocalist joins One Direction and J. Cole as the only performers to interrupt Swift since 1989 came out 12 weeks ago. We'll see what happens next week with regard to that streak. -
