8 Victims of MC Hammer: Madonna, Vanilla Ice, AC/DC and More
MC Hammer took his first step to the top of the Billboard 200 on this date 25 years ago with Please Hammer, Don't Hurt 'Em , the hip-hop album that would introduce the world to "U Can't Touch This" and help the rapper to maintain a place at the top of the charts for 21 weeks, interrupted only once. That's impressive but it makes us feel bad for all of the other performers who were denied a no. 1 album by that craze. Nothing tops a best-selling album for musicians but Hammer wasn't trying to give his spot up. Music Times checked out the eight albums that took the no. 2 spot during Don't Hurt 'Em's run, from Madonna to Vanilla Ice, and listed them from least weeks to most in second place. -
5 Unreleased Lady Gaga Collabs: Paul McCartney, Cher and Azealia Banks(?)
Fans of both Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar got at least a partial treat yesterday when the previously unreleased track "Partynauseous" leaked online. It might seem odd that a collaboration between one of the biggest pop stars in the world, plus one of the most in-demand rappers in the game, didn't make it onto an album...but you might be surprised how many Gaga collaborations have yet to see the light of day (or have only done so in an unofficial context). We're not talking about the pre-Fame Gaga guest spots, such as her appearance with New Kids on The Block...we're talking about music that's yet to drop, including possible collaborations with stars such as Paul McCartney and Cher. -

Zayn Malik has announced that he's leaving One Direction, a declaration that Directioners have been fearing for weeks, following in the rumors of his infidelity and general dissatisfaction. We're not suggesting that the group is officially done, but the history of boy bands suggests that when one member decides to leave the fold, that's a good indication the honeymoon, and often the group itself, is over. Here are five cases of major members leaving a boy group and what happened afterward. Featuring One Direction, NSYNC, Backstreet Boys and more. -

The time to donate for TLC's new album ended Thursday on Kickstarter and the group has more than enough to fund the new record: $430,000 to be precise.
