    Pixies have been "back" since 2004, but they've finally gotten around to releasing an album of new material. The band confirmed Monday that it would be dropping Indie Cindy on April 23, the band's first album since 1991's Trompe le Monde.

    The Pixies dropped a new EP overnight last night without warning. The follow up to September's EP-1, the new 4-song effort, EP-2, is available for digital download or as a limited-edition 10-inch vinyl through the band's website. The tracks are "Blue-Eyed Hexe," "Magdalena," "Greens and Blues" and "Snakes."

The band in question, Arcade Fire, confirmed on Monday that it will be playing at Marlay Park in Dublin, Ireland on June 29, the Sunday of Glastonbury weekend.

    The Pixies have announced who their new bassist will be, and no, her name isn't Kim. Paz Lenchantin, who has played with Zwan, A Perfect Circle and Entrance Band, will be joining the band on their upcoming 2014 tour. She replaces Kim Shattuck who replaced founding member Kim Deal during the band's 2013 tour.

  • Pixies Announce North American Tour Dates, Premiere New Video

    Pixies have announced plans for a 33-date North American tour beginning Jan. 15 in Toronto. Joining them on the road are FIDLAR, Cults and Best Coast. The band has also released a video today for "Andro Queen" off EP-1. The video was directed by Ondi Timoner via Interloper Films. The trippy video features concert footage, clips from the road and scenes from nature.
  • Pixies Perform 'Bagboy' and 'Indie Cindy' Off 'EP-1" on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Will Play Four Nights This Week In New York City

    For the first time in 20 years (aside from 2004 single "Bam Thwok"), the Pixies are releasing new material. They appeared last on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and performed "Bagboy" (they also played a web-exclusive version of "Indie Cindy"), which the band released in June.
