• Jay Leno Doesn't Understand Why Anyone Believes Bill Cosby's Innocent

Jay Leno has never been one to dodge controversial subjects, so it is not too surprising that when asked about the scandal plaguing Bill Cosby, he weighed in with a real answer. Leno was on hand for a Q&A segment at the NATPE conference yesterday and his comments about the scandal made it clear that he believes the allegations against the famed comedian are true.
  • Bill Cosby Will Never Have a Job With NBC Again

Bill Cosby may have issued a statement earlier this week reassuring his remaining fans that his career is far from over, but ultimately, his ability to continue working is in the hands of other people and that is a real problem. If just one or two women had made allegations against the comedic legend, then he likely would be given the benefit of the doubt, but with more than 15 women coming forward, Cosby is going to have to have a real uphill battle.
  • Bill Cosby Claims His Career is 'Far From Over' in Statement to Fans

Bill Cosby is really fighting to hang on to whatever is left of his sinking career. Every time another allegation is made against the comedian, he takes another financial hit almost immediately. When Chloe Goins spent two hours with the LAPD earlier this week, Cosby's shows in Massachusetts that were scheduled for early February were canceled. Now rather than just digging up dirt on his latest accuser, he has also addressed the Colorado fans that are still going to attend an upcoming show.
  • Bill Cosby, Team of Investigators Taking Aim at Chloe Goins for Speaking with LAPD

After learning that Chloe Goins filed criminal charges against him with the LAPD, of course Bill Cosby's team has come out swinging. The young model's attorney requested that investigators get a search warrant for The Playboy Mansion, where the incident allegedly happened. They claim that surveillance tapes may provide solid proof to bolster Goins's claims. Now Cosby's team is pushing for the same footage. The comedian actually used to be friends with Hugh Hefner, and he is hoping that the head of the Playboy empire will give him evidence that might prevent any kind of criminal charges from being filed. According to a report by TMZ, Cosby's team is looking for surveillance footage and the names of employees who worked on the 2008 night in question. What is more than a little interesting is the fact that Cosby has also expressed concern about whether or not any former Playmates might have made similar claims against him. If Hefner knows of any, then you better believe Cosby's team wants to get to them before they come forward on their own. While fighting back a continuous onslaught of rumors and allegations, Cosby's business continues to tank.
  • Did Tina Fey, Amy Poehler Give Allegations Against Bill Cosby Credibility by Mentioning Them at the Golden Globes?

Bill Cosby has spent the better part of the last two months fighting to salvage his career after numerous women have come out of the woodwork to accuse him of sexual impropriety. He has not taken direct aim often. Instead, he has hired a team of investigators to find skeletons in his accusers's closets and used his minimal time onstage to take a verbal sideways shot, but all the while Cosby seems to have thought that, eventually, it will all go away. The fact that Amy Poehler and Tina Fey fired shots at Cosby during the Golden Globes may have had a bigger impact than anyone would have imagined. TMZ caught up with Michelle Hurd, an actress from "Law & Order" who is also a Cosby accuser. She found it ironic that a steady stream of women making similar allegations about being drugged and then assaulted have at times found themselves under the media's microscope, but once two respected fellow comediennes took aim at the man who once might have been sort of their idol, things look different. Fey and Poehler roasted Cosby out in the open and in front of an international audience. There was no hesitation in their words, and by the time they finished there seemed to be little doubt of how Hollywood as a whole is now viewing Cosby. It was also a bit ironic that these direct shots were fired at Cosby in prime time and on NBC, the network that he once helped to propel to the No. 1 position with "The Cosby Show."
  • Bill Cosby Gets Standing Ovation, Protests at Canadian Show

Bill Cosby claims to have had a "wonderful time" performing in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, last night, Jan. 7. It was his first stand-up gig since last November, when detailed allegations of sexual assault first appeared again in the press. It is not the first time Cosby has been accused, but the allegations are really sticking this time around. Last night's performance was met with cheers as well as several protesters. When Cosby took the stage at the Center in the Square theater, about a third of the seats were empty in what would normally have been a sell-out crowd. While an announcer warned that there could be disruptions, there was not a single heckler in sight. The audience was polite and Cosby ended with a partial standing ovation. He also thanked the crowd for showing up and supporting him. While, all things considered, this show was a success, it is nothing compared to the kind of showing the comedian usually gets for one of his stand-up gigs. This show, as well as two others in Ontario, were booked before the scandal began, and when Cosby did not back out and cancel the dates, the venues were not going to risk doing it and being sued for breech of contract. What remains to be seen is whether or not Cosby will be able to book any new shows for this year. Several dates have already been canceled in the U.S. and we are not hearing any new ones being added to his schedule as of yet.
  • Phylicia Rashad: Accusations Against Bill Cosby 'Orchestrated' to Destroy Legacy

Bill Cosby's reputation and legacy has completely nosedived in under two months thanks to a string of allegations by several different women. Is Cosby really capable of drugging and sexually assaulting women on a regular basis? Could this many people who have never met be telling the same lie? That is what the comedian's legal team is trying to convince us of. It seems the public has hung on the words of those affiliated with Cosby and input from those who worked with him on the set of "The Cosby Show" seems invaluable. Finally, Phylicia Rashad is speaking up. Rashad was Cosby's television wife for years, and after staying quiet for several weeks, she finally spoke exclusively with Showbiz 411 yesterday, and she staunchly defended her friend. "Rashad, who is one of our greatest stage actresses, has kept quiet, didn't seek me out and even said, 'I don't want to become part of the public debate.' But knowing this she did say to me, 'I love him' about Bill Cosby. She stands defiantly behind him. She told me that in the years she's known him, she has never seen the behavior alleged by the women who say they were drugged and raped, or sexually harassed," wrote Roger Friedman. "Forget these women," Rashad said. "What you're seeing is the destruction of a legacy. And I think it's orchestrated. I don't know why or who's doing it, but it's the legacy. And it's a legacy that is so important to the culture." Rashad dismisses claims from Beverly Johnson and Janice Dickinson. "Oh, please," she said when their names came up. She is also quick to defend Camille Cosby. "This is a tough woman, a smart woman," she told me. "She's no pushover."
  • Bill Cosby's Legal Team Insists CNN is Trying to Ruin Him

Bill Cosby's uphill battle to save his career isn't even close to over yet. Instead, it seems like with each passing day we learn of a new accuser or someone offers up scathing details of an encounter with the actor that seem to prop up all of the other allegations that came before. When Beverly Johnson decided to speak out recently it seemed like a bit of a game-changer because no one seemed to really question her account and there was a shift in the way that the media covered this story. Cosby felt it enough to actually talk to a reporter in the hopes of dividing and conquering the media. It didn't work, so now Cosby's legal team is ripping into the media, one network at a time and they're starting with CNN.
  • Debbie Allen Struggling to Believe Allegations Made Against Friend Bill Cosby

As more allegations of sexual misconduct are leveled against Bill Cosby on almost a daily basis, his supporters seem to be scattering. That makes the people who are still firmly planted in his corner a bit more noteworthy. Debbie Allen has long been affiliated with the actor, and while promoting her new BET special "The Hot Chocolate Nutcracker," she weighed in on the whole scandal, admitting that she finds the allegations "hard to believe" because of the man she has believed Cosby to be. Allen recently discussed her thoughts with "Today's" Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee, explaining: "I don't think we can have this conversation honestly in two minutes. It begs to ask a bigger question. Where's the moral spine in America and in the world today? Because how are we raising our daughters, our sons? Where are we looking for the guidance of how we're supposed to live? Cosby gave us one of the greatest shows in history and redefined the perception of black people all over the world. "At the same time, I'm a part of One Billion Rising. This is a movement for women to stand up against violence and denigration of women. This is a tough situation, and it's just hard to believe. I don't know. I think that so much time has passed before they all have kind of have come together ... there's a big question that my mother asks me every day, 'Why now? Why are these people trying to destroy his legacy?'"
  • Hugh Hefner Distances Himself from Bill Cosby Amid Sexual Molestation Allegations at the Playboy Mansion

Whether Bill Cosby is guilty or innocent almost does not matter when it comes to his career. His name has already been tarnished enough that even longtime affiliates are taking three big steps back from the actor just in case he really did sexually assault more than two dozen women. Last week, Judy Huth not only accused Cosby of molesting her at the Playboy Mansion in 1974, but she actually filed a police report. The statute of limitations will make it impossible for the actor to face any legal repercussions, but it does light a fire under the Los Angeles Police Department to investigate and, in doing so, it could possibly unearth other, much younger victims. For a long time Cosby called Hugh Hefner one of his best friends and it did not take the Playboy mogul long to respond to Huth's allegations. Apparently, Hefner wants to make sure that everyone understands that if anything criminal occurred at the mansion, it certainly was not OK with him.
  • Bill Cosby Laughed About Recent Allegations While Performing at Women's Rape Charity in the Bahamas

Nearly every day for the last two weeks another woman has come out of the shadows to accuse Bill Cosby of everything from groping to full-blown rape. While his attorney is insisting that Cosby is nothing more than a victim of a horrific smear campaign, the industry is definitely fearing otherwise. NBC killed a new sitcom that had been in development and Netflix has shelved Cosby's latest stand-up gig that was filmed for them. At first, it was thought that Cosby's stand-up shows would survive these allegations, but many venues have begun canceling gigs into next year, indicating that the comedian may not come out of this with an active career intact. Late last week, Cosby did do a scheduled show in the Bahamas — and ironically enough the proceeds went to benefit a women's charity. The organization that he came out to support works with rape victims and domestic violence victims and provides counseling for both. No doubt Cosby was glad that this show went on because it made him look supportive of women's issues rather than an alleged abuser. What was appalling was that during this show Cosby found some crocodile tears for the slew of allegations against him and even joked onstage about his current battle in the public eye. "Parents are coming and taking their children home, saying to me, 'Bill Cosby, you are an evil man! We will never eat your Jell-O pudding again!'" said Cosby to an audience that thought his jokes were hilarious.
