  • 'Halo 5: Guardians' Soundtrack [LISTEN]

    Halo 5: Guardians' release date is right around the corner (Oct. 27, 2015), which means we'll finally get to experience some of the most anticipated gameplay of the year in the Xbox One exclusive. This Microsoft title from developer 343 Industries involved the hunt for Master Chief by the Spartan Locke, which is sure to be some of the most intense and thriller cinematic scenes in any video game. In order to really get the point across, composer Kazuma Jinnouchi came in and created the game's score, mixing classical compositions with the action of the gameplay.   • 'Darkest Dungeon' Release Date Set for Early 2016

    While Red Hook Games' turn-based adventure game Darkest Dungeon was released on Early Access back in Feb. of 2015, an official release date for PC, PS4, and PlayStation Vita gamers has been announced, which comes just a few months after new patches! On Jan. 16, 2016, you can experience the exciting, nerve-racking gameplay that Early Access players experienced earlier this year, but the title will be completed and feature updates that have yet to be experienced.     The highly anticipated Microsoft Xbox One exclusive video game, Halo 5: Guardians, has a release date set for October 27, 2015, and this week we were treated to a great new launch trailer featuring new gameplay footage. Spartan Locke hunts the fugitive Master Chief in the latest chapter of the popular shooter, but this launch trailer definitely gets us in the mood for gaming, especially thanks to the music that accompanies it. Prog rock band Muse and their song "Knights of Cydonia" score the action in this trailer, which you can watch below!
  • 'Doom' Pre-Beta, Closed Alpha Sign-Up Open Now

    If you were one of the smart gamers out there that pre-ordered Bethesda's Wolfenstein: The New Order or bought it on or before May 26, 2014, you can now sign up to join the Alpha gameplay test of the highly anticipated Doom video game reboot. According to Bethesda, this close Alpha doesn't have a release date or running dates yet, but will only be in English.   • 'Overwatch' Beta Release Date Set!

    Gamers will get a chance to experience the highly anticipated gameplay of Blizzard Entertainment's competitive shooter video game, Overwatch, later this month thanks to the opening of the game's Beta testing!   • 'Allison Road' Ditches Kickstarter Campaign for Publisher

    Independent video game developer Lilith Ltd. caught the attention of the gaming world earlier in 2015 when the teaser trailer for Allison Road had us excited due to its similarities to the big-budget cancelled title Silent Hills' "P.T" trailer. Basically, our prayers were answered with this first-person horror survival title, so plenty of supporters visited Lilith's crowdsourcing campaign on Kickstarter to get some gameplay developed! This week, the studio announced that the campaign has been cancelled because they've signed on with game publish Team17 - which is great news!
  • 'Assassin's Creed' Movie is Like 'Batman Begins' Says Ubisoft

    Movie adaptations of popular video games aren't always the best, but we're still holding out hope for Assassin's Creed, based on the Ubisoft franchise. Starring Michael Fassbender, this upcoming film has a December 2016 release date, which leaves plenty of time for filming (which starts in the Fall of 2015) and post production. A new interview with Ubisoft Motion Pictures CEO Jean-Julien Baronnet has us even more excited because he's drawing comparisons between this new movie with that of Christopher Nolan's acclaimed Batman Begins and Ridley Scott's iconic Blade Runner.   • 'Rock Band' Video Game to Return with 'New Experience': Survey

    The "Rock Band" video game franchise appeared to be dead in the water, but a new survey from Activision indicates the company could be returning with "Rock Band 4." The game expounded on the massive success of "Guitar Hero" in the mid-2000s by creating a full band experience from "instrument" controllers, including guitars, drums and vocal microphones. The first version dropped in 2007 and earned roughly $700 million in revenue. A sequel was released in 2008, and then the brand began to expand to band-specific games, such as "The Beatles: Rock Band." 2010 marked the final major releases, with "Rock Band 3" and "Green Day: Rock Band" hitting store shelves.
