    The National recently announced a Valentine's Day-oriented covers contest in which fans can submit their own version of "I Need My Girl" in hopes of winning a $500 prize. In honor of that endeavor, they have now released a cover of their own with a version of Perfume Genius' (Mike Hadreas) song "Learning."

    Jimi Hendrix sat down with British journalist Keith Altham just a week before his death in 1970 for what would end up being his last known interview. PBS' animated web series Blank on Blank has taken the six-minute audiotape and set it to an animated video.
  • Justin Bieber's DUI trial date set for March 3 in Miami

    Justin Bieber's trial date has been set for March 3 by a Miami-Dade County judge. As previously reported, the pop star was arrested last month for a DUI, resisting arrest and driving with an expired license. According to Billboard, Bieber has already pleaded not guilty to the three misdemeanors. He will be officially arraigned on February 14.

    The nominees for the 2014 Juno Awards were announced today in a press conference in Toronto. Canadian musicians who released albums between September 1, 2012 and November 13, 2013 were eligible for nominations. In all, there are 177 nominees, including 80 first-timers.

    Fashion Magazine CanCam and the music company Avex Network brought the "marshmallow girls" together last summer after a casting call. Avex is responsible for producing some of Japan's most popular acts, such as solo artist Ayumi Hamasaki. And...marshmallow girls? That's the term to describe Japanese women who are "bigger" than a slight, petite frame.

    Phantogram has released its latest single, the highly anticipated (at least for us) "Bill Murray," off their upcoming LP, Voices. In an interview with The Atlantic, keyboardist Josh Carter explained why they named the song after the iconic actor. "We named it Bill Murray because we always pictured a sad Bill Murray for the visuals of that song," he told them. "We want him to be in the music video."
