Matthew Logan Vasquez (frontman of Delta Spirit and singer in Middle Brother) is releasing his first solo LP, Solicitor Returns, on Feb. 19, via DevilDuck Records. Since we know that fans of his bands probably can't wait to hear Vasquez's solo material, we have a brand new track to share with you today! Whenever a lead singer decides to go solo, fans have a ton of questions. Luckily for us, they usually have an explanation in song form. For instance, when David Bazan disbanded Pedro the Lion, he released the song "Fewer Broken Pieces," which was right on the nose for those hoping for some reasoning. With "Personal," Vasquez does the same, but in his very own unique way that fans of his other bands will surely appreciate.
"Personal" is an in-your-face rocker that asks for no forgiveness, and is not apologizing in any way. Vasquez is an incredible storyteller, so when he's reflecting on taking some time for himself, we get to see another layer of the songwriter.
