Maya Hawke marked a new era of her music career by releasing "Missing Out," a single off her upcoming third studio album, "Chaos Angel."

According to reports, the "Stranger Things" star reflects on her life path, and how she seems to be missing out on several life experiences.

"Hittin' on the younger guy / I buy booze for the Ivy League with my television salary / They think they look up to me, ha," she sings.

"Chaos Angel" is slated for release on May 31; the new single came with an accompanying music video directed by Alex Ross Perry.

Maya Hawke Faces an Identity Crisis

The "Missing Out" music video shows several clips of Hawke's face edited into characters's faces in old films and clips, which reflects the song's lyrics.

"I remember my potential / Before I skipped the fundamentals / Before I ran from safety / Hopin' someone would chase me."

The "Moss" actress once shared an anecdote that was used in the first line of the song during a press release: "There was actually a girl who went to Brown, where my brother goes to college, and we were all going around saying what our wish was for ourselves. She said I want to write the next great American novel. It was the moment where I felt older than everyone because I laughed so hard.

She then explained that the encounter inspired the song, because it emphasized how "different" her life is compared to the people she was with at the time.
