Beyoncé's uncle Rowland Martin "Butch" Buyince, the older brother of her mother Tina Knowles, has passed away at the age of 77.
The musician's mom took to social media to express her sadness and announce the tragic news.
Taking to her official Instagram account, the former hairstylist shared an old portrait of her brother. In the caption, she revealed that he died over the weekend.
"I will miss him so much ! He was a career Airforce man. He loved riding Motorcycles was a black Belt in Karate and had the most beautiful green eyes and good looks," she wrote.
Knowles further recalled some of her memories as she noted that her brother was a "great story teller."
Buyince had a wife named Jeanette and a daughter Diana. He also had grandchildren Yvette and Roland.
"He was greatly loved. Sail on Butch... Rowland Martin (Butch) Buyince' June 1946 - Feb 2024 RIP," she added.
Beyoncé Previously Paid Tribute to a Beloved Family Member
As of this writing, Beyoncé has yet to share a statement about her uncle's death, but she previously paid tribute to a beloved family member who passed away.
During the release of her "Renaissance" album two years ago, the musician expressed her gratitude to her Uncle Johnny. She mentioned that he was her "godmother" and the first person to expose her to a lot of music and culture that she used as an inspiration for her record. (via UsWeekly Magazine)

Tina Knowles further gave details about Uncle Johnny, saying he was her sister's son and even though he was Beyoncé and Solange's cousin, they called him Uncle.
The singer was only 17 years old and Solange was 12 when he died, and the matriarch said her daughters "took it so hard."
Beyoncé's Family Loves Celebrating One Another
The recent news comes after Tina Knowles, Beyoncé, and Solange attended the Luar fashion show to celebrate the latter's son Julez for his debut on the big stage as a model on New York Fashion Week.
At the time, Beyoncé embodied her country music era by wearing a bejeweled blazer a pair of thigh-high boots, and a cowboy hat.
Julez is Solange's son whom she shares with her ex-husband Daniel Smith.
