Odd Atelier (OA), the label owned by BLACKPINK's Jennie Kim, has debunked rumors that Jennie is set to release her first solo album this upcoming June

In an appearance on the South Korean television show The Seasons: Red Carpet with Lee Hyori, Jennie herself had teased the album, explaining her hopes to release the record before the end of 2024.

"My dream is to release my solo album this year to the world. It is a full length album," she said.

Chatter then swirled that Jennie would release an album of her own this summer. However, OA responded to these allegations Monday with a statement: "We are planning to work on a new song. However, there has been no discussion on the release date or whether it will be a single or EP."

Though a solo-Jennie album may not be released in the near future, both fans and the "Solo" singer herself are eagerly anticipating its arrival. Jennie's debut album will be her first release under OA.

The global pop star has been a member of BLACKPINK since the group's inception in 2016. Like her group mates, her ventures outside of BLACKPINK have been quite successful.

In 2018, she released "Solo," her aptly titled first song as a solo artist. The track is an homage to Jennie going "solo" from a romantic partner: "This time I'm only lookin' at me, myself, and I."

However, the name also points a clear finger at the star's work apart from BLACKPINK. She was the first member of the group to release work as a solo artist.

In 2023, Jennie starred in HBO's The Idol opposite Lily-Rose Depp and Abel Tesfaye (aka The Weeknd). She delivered an impressive dance routine on the show, and played a calculated sidekick villain to The Weeknd's nefarious Tedros. That same year, she released "JENNIE Special Single (You & Me)" and "One of the Girls," a track from The Idol

Most recently, she collaborated with Matt Champion, a former member of the now-defunct rap collective, Brockhampton. On "Slow Motion," the singers harmonize coyly over minimalist instruments. The track kicks it up a notch with briefly explosive breakbeat moments, while still spotlighting the artists' vocals.

BLACKPINK's other members, Lisa, Rosé, and Jisoo, have also embarked on respective efforts of their own as well. The K-pop idols have pursued paths in both acting and music.

The group remains together and are signed to YG Entertainment (YG) as a collective, but are working on individual efforts separate from the massive South Korean company.

Jennie recently launched her own label and company, ODD ATELIER, better known as OA. In a post, Jennie and OA explained that the company, which was established in November, is "a space that aims to create new things that attract attention in a different way from what is usual or expected."
