Nine years have passed since One Direction disbanded, yet Louis Tomlinson continues to face persistent "conspiracy" speculations about his relationship with former group member Harry Styles.

Addressing these rumors yet again, Tomlinson made it clear during a recent interview with Brazilian news outlet G1 that he was never romantically involved with the "As It Was" artist.

Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles' Non-Existent 'Romance'

Tomlinson told the publication, "What's tough is, I realized this some years ago - there is nothing I can say. There is nothing I can do to dispel the believers of that conspiracy."

"They are so intertwined with what they believe to be the truth now that they won't actually see the truth for what it is."

In 2010, Tomlinson and Styles forged a strong bond while becoming members of the same boyband during their time on The X Factor.

With the band's increasing success that time, a group of their fans, referred to as "Larries," started speculating about the nature of their relationship beyond friendship.

"It does irritate me a little bit, you know? But it is just kind of [the] nature of the job, I suppose," the "Bigger Than Me" hitmaker confessed.

Despite his best efforts to maintain a calm demeanor amid the speculations, Tomlinson, father to 8-year-old Freddie from his previous relationship with Brianna Jungwirth, has observed that fans occasionally cross the line.

"There are times where it gets a little bit... at times it gets far too personal within that whole space," Tomlinson said. "I've got my son Freddie [who is] the most important person in my life. Occasionally it kind of broaches some stuff that is really unfair."

The former boyband member concluded, "So it kind of just is this thing that exists now. There's nothing I can do about it, there's nothing I can say about it to stop people making up what they want to make up. So be it!"

Larry Stylinson Purely Fiction

Back in 2012, Tomlinson already vehemently declared his heterosexuality and dismissed the circulating online gossip as baseless.

"Hows this, Larry is the biggest load of b-----t I've ever heard. I'm happy why can't you accept that," the "Back to You" singer tweeted during that time.

In a supportive gesture towards his former bandmates, ex-1D star Zayn Malik spoke out against the Larry rumors following his departure from the group in 2015. During an interview with the Fader, he dismissed any speculation of secret relationships within the band members.

Despite maintaining friendships with a few former members of the group, Tomlinson and Styles have been noticeably absent from each other's company following the band's breakup in 2015.

"It's not funny, and it still continues to be quite hard for them," the "PIllowtalk" singer confessed. "They won't naturally go put their arm around each other because they're conscious of this thing that's going on, which is not even true."

Despite all of this, Tomlinson has consistently praised Styles, referring to him as a close companion akin to a brother.

He told the Telegraph in 2022, "[Styles'] not just doing music, he's got film as well, and the (stadium) tour he's done is unbelievable."
