Victoria Monét Makes Bold Political Stance on Coachella 2024 To 'Stop the Hate'

Artist4Ceasefire founding member and Grammy-winning singer Victoria Monét is making a bold political pronouncement during her Coachella 2024 performance.

Monét is at the forefront of calling for a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip as Israel continues to barrage the embattled nation in their ongoing siege.

Victoria Monét Calls For Ceasefire in Gaza

Billboard reported that Day 3 of Coachella was riddled with surprises - from Renee Rapp bringing out Kesha, Justin Bieber appearing on Tems' set, and the mini Fugees reunion - and Monét was also one of those who couldn't help but surprise her fans.

The outspoken singer used her platform to speak out on one of the most pressing issues on the planet today - Israel's war in the Gaza strip.

During her performance, Monét made a bold pronouncement to the crowd: "Stop the wars, stop the hate, stop the genocides, stop motherf-ing hating. Live with love. Stop thinking so small. You need to be thinking big, b-ch. Think big, b-ch."

Although Monét did not reference or name-dropped Israel or Gaza in her statements, she has spoken largely about it in the past. She has been a proponent of calling a ceasefire in the war-torn region in Asia.

Victoria Monét Leads Artists 4 Ceasefire

Monét was one of the founding members of the Artists 4 Ceasefire collective, a group of music artists who wrote to President Joe Biden urging him to call for an immediate ceasefire in the Palestine-Israel conflict.

"We urge your administration, Congress, and all world leaders, to honor all of the lives in the Holy Land and call for and facilitate a ceasefire without delay - an end to the bombing of Gaza, and the safe release of hostages. Half of Gaza's two million residents are children, and more than two thirds are refugees and their descendants being forced to flee their homes. Humanitarian aid must be allowed to reach them," the letter read.

"Beyond our pain and mourning for all of the people there and their loved ones around the world we are motivated by an unbending will to stand for our common humanity. We stand for freedom, justice, dignity and peace for all people - and a deep desire to stop more bloodshed," it further said. 

The letter's signatories included Drake, Jennifer Lopez, Jon Batiste, Zayn, Frank Ocean, Dua Lipa, and Killer Mike, among many other artists, including TV stars Quinta Brunson and Jeremy Allen White.
