Katy Perry is making her grand return to the pop music scene.

The "Teenage Dream" singer has revealed that she is going to release "one of her biggest songs" soon. At an American Idol afterparty on Monday, Perry reunited with pop artist Lu Kala, who she recently worked with in the studio to create what she anticipates to be a big hit off her upcoming album.

Lu Kala took to Instagram to share their interaction, where Perry surprised her by letting the cat out of the bag that they collaborated with each other.

"She helped me write one of my biggest songs that has yet to come out but it's coming out," she assured social media users, before turning to Kala to say, "Don't say anything!"

Kala shared the video, stating that she was "not expecting" Perry to praise her as she did. She goes on to tease that she can't wait for fans to hear what they have worked on together.

"I was not expecting any of this, wow," the caption read. "Thank you @katyperry for letting me be the tiniest part of what you have coming. I can't wait for the world to hear it."

Perry has teased her album frequently throughout the past year, stating that she is taking her time to "get this right."

"To know me is to know that I've been a Katy fan FOREVER!! You can't spell Pop without [Katy Perry] and as a Pop gurlll, this means the WORLD TO ME," Kala continued in a separate post from the night. "Brb, still crying."

Fans of the "Never Really Over" hitmaker have been locked out from any concrete news about the album, with Perry recently carrying a "top secret" document regarding its release on a red carpet. In a tiny glass purse, Perry held a scroll that said "KP6: TOP SECRET." It has not yet been revealed what the paper entailed.

Perry's fiance, Orlando Bloom, also recently let it slip that she "has new music coming out," although he did not specify when a potential release date could be.

It is anticipated that music will be released by the fall, as Perry is headlining the massive Rock In Rio festival. She will be headlining at Rio de Janeiro on September 20, set to be one of the biggest audiences of her career. The A-list lineup also includes Doja Cat, the Jonas Brothers, Ed Sheeran, Ne-Yo, Imagine Dragons, Joss Stone, and more.

The new album was written from a place of "unconditional love" that Perry has been experiencing since the birth of her daughter, Daisy.

"[I] have written a lot from a place of love because I'm feeling so much of it - so much unconditional love, that love you never knew existed," she said, NME reports. "I'm always writing, I have been, but I think what's really important to me is to be celebrating the world that I've got to build with all of these wonderful songs and to be responsible for a life for a three-year-old."

Perry's last record, Smile, was released in 2020. The release coincided with her pregnancy and the album included tracks like "Daisies," "Harleys In Hawaii," and "Not the End of the World."
