It's no secret that Jay Z is one of the biggest names in hip-hop, but apparently he is also one of the biggest celebrities in general according to how many times his name was searched this year. Vibe cites an analysis by Ask.com in which they compiled searches from its 100 million users worldwide and came up with a list of the top ten searched celebrities. Jay Z is the only musician to make the list, coming in at No. 3.

Hov's popularity is likely due to his rumored romantic turmoil with wife Beyoncé, their joint On The Run tour and HBO special and, of course, the elevator incident with his sister-in-law Solange Knowles.

Robin Williams, who passed away earlier this year, and Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence picked up the No. 1 and 2 spots, but Hov did beat out his Watch The Throne partner Kanye West's wife Kim Kardashian (who presumably did not break the Internet) as well as late comedian Joan Rivers, Ray Rice, Angelina Jolie, Renee Zelleweger, Kate Middleton, and Derek Jeter.

Beating out all of the above, however, was Ebola — this year's most searched term. Good job, Ebola. ISIS, Malaysia Airlines, Ice Bucket Challenge, Ferguson, Sochi Winter Olympics, World Cup, Nigeria, Malala Yousafzai, and iPhone 6 took up the No. 2 through 10 spots.

It should be noted that this doesn't appear to account for all search engines — only Ask.com. So this doesn't likely reflect the entirety of web searches, but it's possible.

Now they he has begun to reach the top of search engine popularly, he might be taking time out of the public eye. He, Beyoncé and Blue Ivy are rumored to be taking a year off in Paris.
