In a new twist this year, The Voice gave its season seven finalists the chance to record an original single and an accompanying music video. Last night (Dec. 15), in a performance-filled penultimate episode, this season's wildcard save, former TSA agent Damien came back with like, well, a "Soldier." For his original track, the R&B rising star got a little gospel and old school, and like his companions Craig Wayne Boyd, Matt McAndrew and Chris Jamison, Damien's original single now has a studio version and music video.

Unlike his fellow contestants, whose music videos were filled with romantic plot lines, Damien was largely playing it solo and dramatic in the clip for "Soldier." With the skies of heaven opening down on him and eventually pouring down on him, Damien sings against a plain wooden wall for the majority of his music video.

There's also a particularly dramatic scene, where he stands in a parking lot in the rain, trying to woo his life back to existence. And, oh, it is a woman after all. While he stands soaking and singing in the rain, his former beloved stands in the lot staring back at him.

Damien was the wildcard save on The Voice and is one of four finalists for season seven. He's pitted against Matt McAndrew, Chris Jamison and Craig Wayne Boyd. The winner of the show will be revealed tonight (Dec. 16) in a finale that will also feature performances from Ed Sheeran, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hozier, Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars and more.
