Although it's completely unexpected and a bit alarming, Greg Gutfeld, the outspoken host of late night talk show Red Eye on the Fox News Channel, seems to have pretty hip taste in music. This equally surprised other members of the Fox News team recently.

It may set him apart from the other personalities on the network and draw unlikely viewers, or confuse and disturb current regular viewers, but he hasn't let it stop him from inviting having Ariel Pink, Stephen Malkmus, Fucked Up's Damien Abraham and GWAR's Oderus Urungus on the show.

Gutfeld made an appearance on another conservative Fox program The Five where he took a brief period to talk about what music he listens to during the commercial breaks on his show and some of the bands he's been into lately, like the dreamy electronic sounds from Boards of Canada. Yes that's correct.

"My favorite band right now is Boards of Canada," he said with confidence. "Their new album, I heartily recommend. They're amazing."

It's pretty impressive that Gutfeld has even heard of Boards of Canada, let alone names them as his favorite. He also threw out that he enjoys Ty Segall and the Melvins.

When the other members of the panel seemed baffled at his expression of taste, he makes a sarcastic remark in response. "Boards of Canada are Scottish. They're obviously bigoted."
