As promised, Lil Wayne dropped the first track from his upcoming mixtape Sorry 4 the Wait 2 in lieu of his indefinitely delayed album Tha Carter V. The head of Weezy's label Young Money, Mack Maine, promised on Instagram Sunday, Jan. 11, that they would release a song from S4TW2 to celebrate the Green Bay Packers's win over the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL playoffs. They did just that, taking to Lil Wayne's YouTube account last night to unveil his remix of Future's tune "S--t," where he uses the opportunity to take a shot at Birdman and Cash Money Records. In his first verse, he says:

I'm a nerd, I'm a geek, I'm absurd, I'm unique
Did my time in Cash Money, time served and released
But this agent ain't free, word, that's the word on these streets
But that shit is old news, that shit is so yesterweek
I'm just focused, focused on my expertise

They like "Tunechi, you good," I'm like "bob yessiree"
Now don't, I mean don't, don't question me, let me breathe

Rapping over the Mike Will Made-IT beat, Lil Wayne takes on Future's "S--t" and adds his signature flare and style to the tune, with a hint of Auto-Tune on the hook.

This is the first taste fans have received from Lil Wayne for his upcoming SFTW2 in the wake of his public rift with Cash Money over the release of Tha Carter V. Though some signs appear to point that the two parties may come to an agreement at some point, outside forces are circling to try and get in on the action. The longer this drags on, the more fans will get antsy with Wayne and Birdman over something that most fans will not have the patience to understand. It is good to see Wayne still recording and releasing music, despite the circumstances.

There are no further details regarding the rest of the mixtape, but it should be coming soon, according to Hot New Hip Hop.
