Yesterday, it was finally confirmed that Brian Williams stint as anchor of NBC Nightly News has officially ended. While many believed that the disgraced journalist would be completely fired, he has instead been offered a life line at MSNBC. Williams will now serve as the floundering networks' breaking news anchor, a job that still carries with it a ridiculous paycheck.

According to an exclusive report by The Wrap, "The insider said that Williams would be making "between $8 and $10 million," adding that the figure represented what the former anchor considered a big cut in pay. The disgraced reporter was making closer to $15 million at the network, not the $10 million that has been previously reported, the insider said. Williams continues to take criticism internally from colleagues at the network, and is not much better liked at MSNBC, where he anchored a show in its early years." explaind the insider.

NBC's investigation of Williams "misremembering" unearthed a multitude of instances when the trusted news authority lied in his reporting, something he kind of owned up to in an interview with Matt Lauer this morning. Williams will not admit to lying but instead says that he made claims that were simply not true. In perhaps one of the most honest things that Williams has ever said, he now admits that his ego drove him to try and make himself look better on camera. He insists that his suspension from NBC and the fallout from the scandal that he created for himself has completely changed him.

Williams is hoping that MSNBC's viewing audience will allow him to earn their trust and respect back. Do you think that is even a possibility or has he gone too far for redemption in the news world? How about that pay check that Williams will be earning? Is $10 million when you're no longer credible absolutely ridiculous? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
