A few days ahead of Currents' July 17 release, Tame Impala is currently streaming its third studio album in its entirety across NPR Music and CBC Music. Shadowing the Australian band's 2010 debut album Innerspeaker and its 2012 sophomore follow-up Lonerism, Kevin Parker and company decided to voyage in an altered direction for a more dance-leaning LP.

Parker, the group's frontman, recently described Currents' thirteen tracks to NME as "groove-based" and "club-friendly".

"Listening to [our music] was very much a kind of headphone, solitary experience," Parker said. "Which is cool, but I've moved on from that. I've always loved listening to music on my own, but there's another side of me that is just fascinated by... like Goa trance, for example - just a rave on a beach in India, you know? Where there's someone that's spinning the music and it's just this free-flowing continuous energy."

Having dropped a few singles along the way for anticipatory fans, Tame Impala teased its third LP with harmonious and distinctive tracks including album opener "Let it Happen," "Cause I'm a Man," "Eventually," "Disciples" and most recently, "Nangs." The latter was teased in a behind-the-scenes video co-directed by Parker himself, which chronicled the formation of the album, notes Pitchfork.

"I wanted to make something that from the sound of it could be down at the club," Parker continued. "I just realised that I'd never heard Tame Impala played somewhere with a dancefloor or where people were dancing."

Currents will see its official release on July 17 via Interscope while Tame Impala hit the road for a series of UK and Ireland gigs and festivals alike, ready to dazzle the crowd into dance.
