Lostprophets weren't necessarily the most popular group among American mainstream rock listeners, but everyone came to know the band due to the absurd crimes of frontman Ian Watkins that came to light during his 2013 trial. Watkins is facing at least 30 years in prison right now for sexual acts involving minors (that's as far as we're going for the sake of this article), but the rest of the band's members may be looking to jump back into the fray with new music soon. Geoff Rickly, the frontman for Thursday, spoke to Radio Cardiff about his role in the potential album.

"I've been talking to the remaining members of that band, because they're really good guys," he said, unfortunately needing to emphasize how cool the rest of the band is. "I really want to be a part of what they do. I want to be a part of their second chance, because, like, people don't really think of what happens to the other members, but that. That took away their life."

Rumors had already started that Rickly would be the vocalist in the new incarnation of Lostprophets, although he deftly avoided answering the question during the interview. He did set the bar awfully high for the forthcoming Lostprophets release however, comparing it to New Order following the death of Joy Division's Ian Curtis. One thing Rickly avoided even more than rumors of his vocal involvement was any connection with Watkins.

"I never knew the main guy," he clarified. "He was always a bit of a rock star to me, so I just kinda stayed clear. But the other guys were like, ya know, share a beer with ya, just talk about music, talk about life, talk about your family."
