Death comes in many forms, and with each beginning of a new year comes a long list of TV shows that didn't get a renewal from their respective networks. We of course are talking about the cancelled series that are most likely not even on your mind any more thanks to disappointing ratings, drops in viewership or possibly just because three episodes of a new show in 2015 weren't enough to make an impression on you. Below is a short selection-an In Memoriam if you will- of the TV shows that didn't make it into 2016!

All joking aside, you can check out our actual In Memoriam post about a selection of celebrities outside of the music world that passed away in 2015 right here.

A number of long-lasting shows ended up ending their TV runs this year. After 22 seasons, the reality TV competition America's Next Top Model came to an end, as did Mythbusters.

We also lost short-running shows like Extant, which starred Halle Barry and Jeffrey Dean Morgan for 2 seasons. Revenge, The Following and Under the Dome beat out Extant by a few seasons, but did not make it to 2016 either.

Hannibal, the critically acclaimed NBC thriller about Hannibal Lecter from showrunner Bryan Fuller, wrapped up an intense series after only three seasons. Though there was plenty of hype around the show, ratings and viewership were too low to order a fourth season.

Meanwhile, shows like Mr. Robinson, Forever, Battle Creek, State of Affairs, Marry Me and Constantine didn't make it past one season- which is sad, but not the least amount of episodes to air.

The Messengers, a post-apocalyptic sci-fi drama on the CW, was pulled from broadcast after only three episodes. Similarly, ABC's Wicked City, which starred Ed Westwick, was also pulled as soon as possible.
