Keys N Krates have released their Midnite Mass EP. The six-track EP is the first big project from the Canadian production and live electronic trio since their Every Nite EP in 2014. It is their fifth EP overall. The EP comes ahead of a busy North American tour kicking off next week over the rest of January and through all of February, with one lone date back home in March at Danforth Music Hall in Toronto.
The EP has a bit of everything from the group, drawing on influences from across the world of bas music. They incorporate some speedy drum n bass rhythms, deeper bass growls, unstoppable snare rolls and softer melodies to accompany vocals.
The first three tracks are all instrumental, giving fans a dose of pure dance music with big beats and very danceable rhythms. The second half brings in three separate vocalists, Ouici, Katy B and Aqui to add a more noticeable human element to their music.
The trio is getting ready to go on their Midnite Mass Tour starting on Jan. 19 in South Burlington, Vermont. The tour will take them to cities like Philadelphia, Nashville, New York City, Chicago, St. Louis, Sacramento, Denver and ending in Toronto on March 25. The Hermitude, Ganz, Jesse Slayer, and Stooki Sound will support them at select stops along the way.
