Carrie Underwood recalls the evening that launched her career. Who would have thought it's already 17 years ago? Time surely flies! And because this is such a huge moment for her, the musician got quite intimate and shared an actual diary entry.

This is being generous in a whole different level, since diaries are prized, personal possessions that could house so many secrets.

On Wednesday, the 39-year-old country singer shared a photo of a diary entry written hours after she won Season 4 of American Idol to commemorate the 17th anniversary of her title win, and thanked her fans for their continued support.

"Today is the 17-year anniversary of my @americanidol win! Where does the time go?" wrote Underwood alongside the handwritten note in the post's caption. "Please enjoy a page from the journal of a 22-year-old farm girl who just had the most incredible night! I still feel the excitement through the pages! Happy anniversary to me and a forever 'thank you' to all who voted!"

In the diary post, a 22-year-old Underwood recounts her experience on the 2005 American Idol finale, complete with scribbles and asides.

The musician for the band Some Hearts wrote that the final moment has arrived and that the host Ryan Seacrest was holding the gold card.

She also recounted how amazing it was to get keys to two matching red 2005 Mustang convertibles. She added that she then looked at the incredible mass of audience and exhilarated.

The excitement was so palpable that she needed to close her eyes, and when she opened, it was right at the time her name was announced as the winner.

It sent her to tears. She shared that the crowd went berserk when her name was screamed. "All the other contestants were sent out to hug me. I was crying the whole time," she revealed.

Her tears were not done yet when she was asked to sing  "Inside Your Heaven," which she said she "blubbered through" while fireworks went off onstage.

Her journey since then has been nothing but wonderful. In fact, it's praiseworthy that her career is still ongoing. Not all singers get 17 years in the industry.

Last April, she also announced the dropping of her new album. The project is the follow-up to her Grammy-winning 2021 religious collection, "My Savior" and will arrive June 10, which is already around the corner.
