The return of Rock music icon Bruce Springsteen on his sold out arena and concert tours is highly-anticipated.

With the sale of the first round of tickets starting last Wednesday, fans were particularly surprised with how expensive the tickets were, all because of Ticketmaster's Dynamic Pricing scheme.

The complicated Dynamic Pricing scheme of the Ticket provider has long been questioned by Bruce Springsteen fans, Taylor Swift's, and even My Chemical Romance's.

Ever since the fan outrage reached the headlines, it was only today that the singer's camp has finally spoken up.

Bruce Springsteen Manager Speaks Up About Ticketmaster Dynamic Pricing Issue

Speaking to The New York Times recently, Bruce Springsteen's manager Jon Landau, said that they had looked carefully at what other touring artists have been doing on their respective tours.

"We chose prices that are lower than some and on par with others," Landau claimed.

Per the manager, regardless of the outrage on the "modest number" of tickets that were priced higher than $1,000 above, their average seat price still sits on the $200 mark.

"I believe that in today's environment, that is a fair price to see someone universally regarded as among the very greatest artists of his generation," he continued.

True enough, according to Ticketmaster's recent statistics, the highly-contested Platinum Tickets only represented 11.2% of the tickets sold for the Bruce Springsteen 2023 Tour.

However, Landau's statements still have not addressed the growing fan sentiment - why did the Boss, who has previously spoken against the unfair ticket system in 2009, allow these exorbitant prices now?

Bruce Springsteen Ticketmaster 2009 Issue

This is not the first time Bruce Springsteen fans had a bone to pick on the prominent Ticketing provider.

In 2009, the "Dancing in the Dark" singer addressed Ticketmaster after fuming fans complained that they were directed to a site that sold more expensive tickets, which turned out to be a scalper website owned by the same company.

The huge ruckus was massive and even involved the New Jersey General Attorney, but later on, it was resolved after Ticketmaster issued a hefty apology.

More than a decade after, the ticketing problem still plagued Bruce Springsteen fans.

What is Ticketmaster' Dynamic Pricing' Program?

Ticketmaster's Dynamic Pricing program is designed to "devalue" the secondary trade market for ticket resale and scalpers.

The Platinum Tickets, which fans have reported shot up to $5000 last week, are given out on places whose demand for tickets has risen dramatically.

For example, in Tampa, Florida, General Admission standing tickets are priced at $2,000+ because the demand in that area is rising at the time of purchase.

Ticketmaster says that this program benefits the artists more and will shoo scalpers away - instead of the secondary market profiting over it, the artist themselves get the entire chunk.
