Kid Cudi is full of surprises. Aside from making music, he is also in the process of writing a memoir, which he revealed to fans via Twitter on Sept. 20.

The 38-year-old rapper announced that his memoir is in the works. It will follow why he was "such a troubled boy in the beginning."

"[I'm] writing a memoir. [I'm] finally gonna tell my story. The full story. All real. All honest," he wrote.

He then revealed that he has already started penning the memoir. "Started writing the first chapter of my book. It's [coming] together really well. [Telling] my story in my own words is scary, but I feel like it needs to be told," he wrote. "I feel like everything will make a [little] more sense as to why you all met such a troubled boy in the beginning."

Cudi has been the subject of some fallouts recently, including one with fellow rapper Kanye West and another with music producer Mike Dean.

He addressed this by tweeting, "I am the most hated man in hip hop right now it seems but [I'm] really one of the most blessed!" The tweet has since been deleted.

Fans' Support

An output of fans' support came in when the Cleveland, Ohio native shared his next endeavor. Some fans joked that even though they did not care for reading or books, the memoir would be an exception.

"Cudi really gonna make me start [reading] books again," wrote a fan.

"im so fkn excited to read this and im not even big on reading. new show, new album, and now a book. ahhh. yung stunna, [sic]" another wrote.

"We appreciate everything you've done for us this year, a world tour, a hometown festival, a documentary, releasing a kid named Cudi on dsps, a whole Netflix show and new album, and now a book? we love you Cudi. [sic]" A fan wrote.

Cudi's announcement gave a nod to his song "Troubled Boy," released in 2014. Cudi sang: "I've learned / No one wants a troubled boy / All they know is trouble boy / And I've learned / No one wants a troubled boy / Show them you're a stronger boy."

Vulnerable

This is not the first time Cudi will be bearing his soul to the public. The rapper has previously released a documentary entitled "A Man Named Scott" in 2021.

The documentary highlighted his journey from humble beginnings to stardom, as well as his struggles with mental health.

Cudi, born Scott Mescudi, is no stranger to struggle, as he noted in an interview with Esquire Magazine in August.

"I actually can say, at thirty-eight, that I love myself. And I couldn't have said that six years ago. I can say that with confidence now and truly believe it, and it shows," he said.

He also added that he is taking it easy, "I won't allow anything to fuck up my mojo right now. I can't." And despite the hurdles that came his way these past few days, like someone leaking his album "Entergalactic," and lining it with fart sounds, Cudi has not lashed out, instead, he announced that he is working on his memoir.
