Snoop Dogg has been making money moves since earlier this year. He has released and launched several products and shows, and now he is adding a new project to his long list of ventures-a biopic movie.

Snoop Dogg revealed the exciting news via a statement, released on Nov. 9, "I waited a long time to put this project together because I wanted to choose the right director, the perfect writer, and the greatest movie company I could partner with that could understand the legacy that I'm trying to portray on screen, and the memory I'm trying to leave behind."

The rapper's Death Row Pictures teamed up with Universal Film Entertainment, as well as Allen Hughes to put together Snoop Dogg's first-ever biopic.

Meanwhile, Allen Hughes, the filmmaker of "Dear Mama" and HBO's "THe Defiant Ones," is going to direct the movie.

"It was the perfect marriage," Snoop Dogg said in the statement. "It was holy matrimony, not holy macaroni."

Life and Legacy

Snoop Dogg is born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr.

It is no question for fans that the 51-year-old rapper deserves to have a biopic made around him, and according to reports, he will also be telling "his own story in his own words"

"Snoop Dogg's life and legacy [make] him one of the most exciting and influential icons in popular culture. We met with Snoop shortly after he acquired Death Row Records and had the opportunity to hear his story in his own words. We are humbled to be able to create the lasting document of this singular artist," announced Donna Langley, chairman of Universal Film Entertainment Group.

Death Row Records was newly acquired by the rapper this year. When MNRK puchased Death Row in 2021, the value of the company was known to be $385 million. Snoop allegedly plans to make Death Row an "NFT" label.

"I am thrilled and appreciative of the opportunity to acquire the iconic and culturally significant Death Row Records brand, which has immense untapped future value," he had said after acquiring the label. "It feels good to have ownership of the label I was part of at the beginning of my career and as one of the founding members."
