Kanye West is not one to back down. He has shown people time and time again that even though he is the only one standing for what he believes in, he will still do it.

Well, he's taking those admirable traits to the next level by trying his hand at politics yet again. According to several reports, West is planning to run for president in 2024.

The 45-year-old rapper, who previously ran as an independent candidate in the 2023 election, has been expressing his interest in running again several times before, but no one actually thought that he would go through with his plan.

According to Billboard, when asked by media personnel, "So are you running?"

West's reply came swiftly: "Yes, It's simple 'cause ain't nobody can tell me, you know, 'You should say this, you shouldn't say that,' you know? It's just we're moving towards the future. [sic]"

Troubling Campaign

Furthermore, reports also noted that West is gearing up for the feat by enlisting the help of Milo Yiannopoulos, a writer and activist. He used to be an editor for Breitbart News, a far-right American media organization.

Consequence of Sound reported that Yiannopoulos and West's association is "especially troubling," given that the former have expressed their negative sentiments on Islam, feminism, the LGBTQIA+ community, and more. On the other hand, West has been very vocal about his antisemitism views.

In 2020, West garnered 70,000 votes total, and got on the ballot in only 12 states. His late registration set the tone for his flimsy campaign. According to reports, he only got to make only one major campaign appearance and it was done last minute.

The news of the rapper vying for the country's highest position comes after his Twitter account was reinstated, as the platform is now owned by Elon Musk.

People took to social media to express their disgust towards the confirmation of West's second presidential campaign.

"Bro really thinks he's gonna win. Literally no one voted for him last time what makes him think we're gonna vote for him this time," wrote a Twitter user.

"I see Kanye accomplishing a lot of things, but being the President of the USA is definitely not one of the accomplishments I see him fulfilling," another wrote.

"Kanye West is running for president. Our government is a goddamn telenovela," an angry netizen tweeted.
