It's been four years since Fall Out Boy last graced fans with a new album and it seems like they're coming back soon as a mysterious advertisement suddenly appeared in a newspaper; are supporters getting new music soon?

The speculation about the punk band's return began when a user named Fedorasolis took to Reddit to share a screenshot of the November 26 issue of the Chicago Tribune.

On Page 7, an advertisement featured a big text that reads "FOB 8" followed by the phrase "If you build it, they will come."

Many fans are convinced that this is a new beginning for the punk band, with one writing, "chicago, older movie phrase, cryptic announcement, and this kinda font/style, I'd say that is 100% a new era announced for FOB. like, is there even any doubt at this point? I'm stoked and can't wait to listen to a new song."

Some fans were skeptical that the ad is a reference to the movie "Field of Dreams" as it featured the quote seen on the newspaper.

Other users pointed out that there is a possible connection between the film and the band, and one fan even suggested that they should release the album on May 5th, the original theatrical release date for the movie back in 1989.

User JexFraequin noted that the number eight makes sense because it could possibly refer to a new era, writing, "For anyone who may not know, "8" likely refers to a new album being their eighth studio album. They have seven so far."

Another Clue for Fall Out Boy's 8th Studio Album

In recent updates, one fan tried typing "ifyoubuildittheywillcome.com" into the search bar of their browser and it immediately redirected them to a website called "actualization.com."

The website in question features a black-and-white theme as well as philosophical questions and statements.

There's a LinkedIn profile attached at the bottom which redirects to a person named Alex Chung, but one fan noted that the man doesn't have a background in music and has no connection to anyone in the industry.

As of this writing, Fall Out Boy has not publicly confirmed that the newspaper advertisement came from their band. They also did not reveal when they will release their new album.
