Shania Twain may be 57 years old, but she definitely doesn't feel or look like it-and she isn't just about to let up either.

"I want to be more relaxed and comfortable in my own skin," the singer explained during her appearance at the "Making Space with Hoda Kotb" podcast.

The "Queen of Me" singer defiantly posed nude for the cover of her sixth studio album because she wanted to break the repressive chains.

"I mean you don't really know what you're gonna get anyway, right?" She continued. "One thing pulled here, and another one pulled there, I don't know, I may never be happy."

The industry is notorious for preferring young, hot, skinny bodies, but Twain is here to prove that despite what size or age, anyone deserves to feel great in their own skin.

"So it's my perception of things that has to change.. .instead of changing who I am and what I look like."

Breaking the Norm

When the "You're Still the One" singer unveiled a series of pictures from a photo shoot of "Queen of Me," she surprised and delighted fans by proudly showing off her skin and body.

Not only is the cover of the album surprising, but the story behind her choice to pose nude for it was equally moving.

"These days, I'm feeling very comfortable in my own skin - and I think this album reflects that musically," she wrote in the caption.

"I want to carry a clear message, particularly as a woman, to always remember my power and I hope the songs are a reminder to you, of that same power inside you!"

Elsewhere in her podcast appearance, Twain expressed that she has no plans of going under the knife herself.

She reasoned that some surgeries don't go as planned, and that alone has deterred her from trying, insisting that she might regret her choice.

This isn't Twain's first time talking about being comfortable in her own skin. In fact, she has talked about how menopause has changed her and her body in many different ways in recent years.

"Now I'm an older woman, and women in menopause's bodies are changing," she explained. "When you're in menopause and your body's changing, they're not making fun, attractive clothes for women in their 50s."

"I am an aging woman, and I don't want to have to shroud myself - and I don't want fashion and society to determine what I should wear and what I shouldn't wear.

"I own this now, I'm taking ownership of this, I'm comfortable in my own skin, I'm doing a photo shoot with all my clothes off. I'm going to sit and look at these photographs, I'm going to face these fears. And I'm going to find the beauty in this."
