A Young Thug and Gunna documentary will finally be released later this February 2023. Titled "Rap Trap: Hip-Hop on Trial," the hour-long documentary will take on a deep-dive into the controversial indictment and arrest of rappers Young Thug, Gunna, and their 26 other Young Slime Life Records associates in a massive RICO case set out by Georgia.

The Young Thug documentary will air on Hulu, exploring the debate on whether music lyrics can be used against artists in prosecution, just like the way Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis decided to do for the indictment of the embattled rapper.

'Rap Trap: Hip-Hop on Trial' Release Date

According to the trailer of "Rap Trap: Hip-Hop on Trial," the release date of the Young Thug, Gunna documentary will be on Feb. 23, 2023.

The Young Thug documentary will be available on Hulu, an ABC Studios subsidiary.

Billboard reports that the Young Thug documentary will feature interviews with people from the hip-hop industry and people close to Young Thug. 300 Entertainment CEO Kevin Liles will be present, as long as Thugger's ex-beau Jerrika Karlae, as well as will.i.am, Killer Mike, and Fat Joe.

"Rap music is judged unlike any other genre like Black people are judged unlike any other people," Killer Mike said in the now-viral trailer.

The documentary also highlights how music lyrics were used against the two rappers as evidence for their arrest and, eventually, for their prosecution.

The Young Thug documentary will be released during the exhausting jury selection for Young Thug's trial.

Young Thug Trial Update

According to AllHiphop, music executives from Def Jam Recordings and Warner Music Group will be among the many witnesses that will be called in the upcoming trial.

A number of YSL Records associates have already pleaded guilty following their acceptance of a plea deal. The first one to bend was Gunna, who infamously took an Alford plea deal in exchange for a commuted sentence.

However, he clarified that even though he took a plea deal, he has not and will not be cooperating with authorities for the remaining part of the trial.

Young Thug, however, was not given or offered any plea deal for that matter. Apart from conspiring to violate the RICO Act of the state, he is also facing a plethora of felony charges.
