Kelsea Ballerini and Morgan Evans have been making headlines over the past few months after their separation and there's a new update regarding their break-up as The Chainsmokers' Drew Taggart has been involved in the drama; what happened?

According to sources who spoke to Page Six, the reason behind the celebrity couple's breakup was due to Ballerini allegedly cheating on her partner with Drew Taggart in 2019. It all happened at the Lollapalooza that year as the two collaborated on the song "This Feeling."

Although the reported incident happened years ago, the country singer only told her now ex-husband in 2021. Aside from the alleged cheating incident, there were also other issues happening in their relationship, leading them to ultimately separate last summer.

Another insider, who claimed to be close to the record producer, told the outlet that Taggart was single at the time of their affair.

As of this writing, none of the artists mentioned above have spoken about the issue.

Kelsea Ballerini, Morgan Evans Messy Divorce

The country artist filed for divorce last summer, five years after tying the knot in 2017. Legal documents show that Ballerini cited "irreconcilable differences" as the cause of their breakup.

The recent news comes a few days after Morgan Evans took to his official Instagram account to call out his now-ex-wife for not publicly sharing the truth about what truly happened behind closed doors.

"It's really sad for me to see this person, who I spent so much of my life with, and loved with all my heart, saying things that aren't reality and that leave out what really happened," he wrote.

The Australian songwriter then noted he's not the type of guy who would speak out on this kind of matter publicly, but if it's what his ex-partner needs to heal, he hopes it helps.

He concluded his post by pleading to his followers to not be mean on his pages and to Ballerini.

The country singer then appeared on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast to detail what happened to their relationship, saying she and her then-husband fought several times and there was a moment when she slept on the couch the night before the Country Music Awards.
