Mod Sun formally broke his silence after his breakup with Avril Lavigne.
On Tuesday, Mod Sun shared photos and videos of him during his performances on his Instagram page. While it looked like a normal update from the punk-pop rocker, the post's caption broke fans' hearts as he addressed his split from Lavigne in it.
"In 1 week my entire life completely changed...I just know there's a plan for it all. I'll keep my head up + always listen to my heart, even when it feels broken," he said.
He noted that he still feels blessed whenever he is surrounded by love during his tours. He also referred to his fans as his best friends and thanked them for always supporting him.
Mod Sun is currently holding his 2023 God Save the Teen tour. He and Lavigne called it quits a week ago, three days after he left for tour.
The reason behind their split remains unknown. However, sources told a news outlet that no third-party was involved.
But the speculation about their breakup started when photos of Lavigne and Tyga out to dinner at Nobu emerged. Insiders clarified that they are just good friends.
Avril Lavigne, Mod Sun's Relationship Explored
Lavigne and Mod Sun met through music. They first worked on the rocker's 2021 single, "Flames." Mod Sun also co-wrote and co-produced some of her songs in her most recent album, "Love Sux."
They soon sparked relationship rumors when the public spotted them together in February 2021 at BOA Steakhouse in Los Angeles. At that time, Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly were with them.

It took them months before they made their relationship Instagram official. In September 2021, Mod Sun uploaded photos of them together, with the first photo showing him kissing Lavigne on her cheek.
The same month, they made their red carpet-debut at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards. They also captured everyone's hearts when they shared a kiss at the 2022 Grammy Awards.
On April 8, 2022, Mod Sun and Lavigne officially got engaged. Mod Sun proposed to her with a custom-designed, heart-shaped ring. They also threw a Paris-themed engagement party.
The rocker then gave her a sweet birthday poem in September 2022, but they did not post anything in the months leading to their split.
