Hugh Jackman recently had a health scare and he wanted to make sure that his fans take care of themselves for them not to experience what happened to him recently.

Taking to his official Instagram account, the Broadway reminded his followers to always wear sunscreen after he underwent two biopsies for basal cell carcinoma.

"I know you've heard me talk about my basal cell carcinomas before. I'm going to keep talking about them, if need be. And if it reminds even one person to put on sunscreen with a high SPF, then I'm happy," he wrote in the caption.

What is Basal Cell Carcinoma?

According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, Basal Cell Carcinoma or BCC, in short, is the most common form of cancer, but it's the least dangerous one.

In the United States, over 3.6 million people are being diagnosed with the medical condition annually.

It happens when a person is being exposed to UV radion from the sun or indoor tanning which affects the basal cells.

Basal cells are the ones that produced new skin cells when the old ones die.

For those who were diagnosed with this type of cancer, there will be little damage if the patient was diagnosed and treated early.

Hugh Jackman Reminds People to Wear Sunscreen

In the video, the singer said he wanted to take the time to remind people that the summer season is fast approaching and those who are in the northern hemisphere should wear sunscreen.

"It is just not worth it. No matter how much you want a tan, trust me," he added.

The actor further explained that what's happening to him at the moment was caused by all the "stuff" that happened 25 years ago and it's just coming out now.

This is not the first time the actor had been treated for the health condition as he had six removals done in the past already.
