Lotus drummer Chuck Morris and his son Charlie went missing during a kayaking trip on the Ozark Mountains three weeks back.

Authorities who handled their case feared that they might already be dead and that they had a search and recovery mission on their hands instead of search and rescue efforts.

Turns out, they were right. 24 days after being reported missing, the bodies of Morris and his son were found with the use of an Underwater ROV.

A statement released by the Benton County Sheriff's Office reads: "On March 16, 2023, the Benton County Sheriff's Office began search efforts for two missing kayakers in the area of S. Lost Bridge Village of Beaver Lake."

"Major Kenneth Paul led the search efforts utilizing many resources from across the nation and organized the daily operations of these efforts. Yesterday, efforts were combined with Carroll County MDS and Christian Aid Ministries Search and Rescue Team (CAM SAR) out of Tennessee. They were able to utilize their Underwater ROV in a challenging environment that exceeded depths of 180'

"After 24 days of recovery efforts, the bodies of both Charles Morris IV (Chuck-Father) and Charles Morris V (Charley-son) have been recovered thanks to the technology and efforts by all personnel."

Hope

Before the bodies have been recovered, Morris' band, Lotus, has been doing everything they can to support and help the late drummer's wife.

The band even launched a series of benefit concerts in honor and support of the Morris family, reports say.

The first show will take place at Denver's Fillmore Auditorium on Apr 21 and 22, with other stops in various cities like Harrisburg and Port Chester.

As of this writing, Lotus has doubled down on its efforts for the benefit concert. They issued a statement following the announcement of its drummer's death.

"Thank you all for the outpour of support from around the world - we feel it and love you just as much! We look forward to meeting many of the Lotus fans at the upcoming benefit concerts in Denver, Harrisburg, and New York. Please purchase tickets at lotusvibes.com."

Missing

When Morris and his 20-year-old son first went missing, Lotus has been in updating fans about the situation, making sure that everyone knew what was going on.

On the day the father and son duo went missing, the band's post was heartbreaking, it read: "We were all hoping for a miracle, but at this point, the search for Chuck and Charley has moved to a recovery."

"While we are deeply grieving, we plan to celebrate Chuck and Charley's lives, our memories with them, and what they meant to so many people. Thank you to all who have reached out with fond words, stories, and emotional and financial support."
