Guitarist Richie Faulkner shared the current progress of making Judas Priest's new album.

Faulkner hyped fans with the news about Judas Priest's new album during an interview with Canada's The Metal Voice in March. At that time, he revealed that the new music is "a bit more progressive."

Following the interview, the guitarist shared a new update regarding the project's status and the timeline of its release.

Richie Faulkner Reveals Status of Judas Priest's New Album

The musician recently appeared in an interview with George Dionne of "The Rock Is George" podcast, during which he was asked about the possible timeline of the new album.

Judas Priest's upcoming album will serve as a follow-up to the band's 2018 album, "Firepower."

According to Faulkner, the band's singer Rob Halford is currently doing a few vocal touch-ups. Still, he cannot provide when exactly it will be released.

"The majority of it is finished. And then you've got things to consider - like the turnaround on vinyl nowadays is six to nine months," he went on. "So even if we finish the record today, as I'm talking to you, and we give it to the record label, we're looking at six to nine months before the vinyl is ready. So that's a bit of a challenge to contend with."

Faulkner added that the album is "almost finished" and "sounding great." Although he cannot share the exact timeline, the musician assured fans it would come out soon.

His comment resonated with what he told Metal Express Radio. At that time, Faulkner said the new album is shaping up "to be its own thing" like how other Judas Priest materials did.

Richie Faulkner's Health Issue

Amid the preparation to release the new album, Faulkner also shared his thoughts regarding his physical problems, including heart problems and an acute aortic dissection.

He told We Go to 11 in March that he was so lucky to be alive despite his health scare while performing onstage in 2021. The health issue led him to undergo surgery, which reportedly made him feel the best before getting back to work.

Faulkner credited his age as what helped him to bounce back as soon as possible. Soon after he recuperated, he called his management and told him he wanted to work again and finish the record with his bandmates.
