Elton John will be performing his swan song at Glastonbury Festival later this June 2023. It is the culmination of his "Farewell Yellow Brick Road" tour in the United Kingdom.
In an interview, the Rocket Man teased what could be expected on his final swan song to his hometown.
Elton John Glastonbury 2023 Performance: What To Expect?
Speaking to BBC Radio 2, Elton John revealed that this was the first time he was ever asked to play at the annual music festival.
"I have played festivals, and have really enjoyed them, but of course Glastonbury is the crème de la crème," he confessed. "To be honest with you, it's the first time I've been asked to play it."
Elton John will be performing on the last day of the Glastonbury Festival's Pyramid Stage. Other artists like Lana Del Rey, Arctic Monkeys, Lil Nas X, Lizzo, Wizkid and Queens of the Stone Age, are also performing.
For him, the timing was just right, as he is a "great believer in serendipity and fate." He even described the moment to be the "most wonderful way to sign off in England."
After his performance on Jun. 25, 2023, in Glastonbury, John would have his final seven shows in Europe - specifically in Paris, Zurich, Copenhagen, and Stockholm.
Officially, the UK leg of the "Farewell Yellow Brick Road" tour culminates on Jun. 18, 2023, in Glasgow. After that, he will be stopping by for a show in Paris at the Accor Arena and returns again for a second night after the Glastonbury set.

Elton John Glastonbury 2023 Setlist
As he explained on the outlet, Elton John admitted that he would be having a "different setlist" for his upcoming Glastonbury Festival performance.
"I've got guests who I can't tell you who they are. But it's gonna be wonderful - I'm really looking forward to it," he told the show.
According to NME, among the guests he could pull out are Dua Lipa and Rina Sawayama - both included in his recent album, "The Lockdown Sessions." Britney Spears can also be a surprise guest following the release of "Hold Me Closer."
Glastonbury 2023 Festival Pyramid Stage Schedule
Elton John will be performing at the Pyramid Stage on Glastonbury 2023 from 21:00 to 23:05. Lil Nas X will perform before him on Sunday. Meanwhile, Guns N' Roses and Lizzo, will perform on Saturday, while Arctic Monkeys and Royal Blood on the first night.
