There are many beautiful and very memorable stickers that are released for certain tournaments, and due to this they can grow in value. These stickers can not only be stored in the inventory as a collectible. They can be pasted onto many skins, such as csgo ak 47 skins. This will make them even more colorful and attractive.

Is the sticker an underestimated element?

Prices for some stickers reach high levels. The rarest specimens cost the same as a brand-new car. But what determines the price of a sticker? Largely its rarity. The game has many varieties of stickers: notable, exotic, extraordinary, and contraband.

Many of them only have the regular variant, but some stickers come in a holographic or metallic variant. There are standard glossy stickers that leave no marks when scraped off, paper-backed glossy stickers that leave a paper trail when scraped off until completely removed, holographic stickers that create a holographic effect, metallic stickers that are shiny and slightly reflective of shadows, and gold stickers.

Like skins, the appearance of stickers do not change over time, but if you start peeling off a sticker from a weapon, you can change it. With each removal of the sticker, its appearance will deteriorate until it is completely gone. So for a purchase of an expensive sticker to not turn into money thrown to the wind, it is better not to touch it at all.

Why is there such high demand?

Skins or stickers do not only cost money because of their beauty or rarity. Professional tournaments also play an important role, because a special capsule with stickers is dedicated to each of them. Moreover, the earlier the tournament was held, the more desirable certain skins and stickers become.

Today, the most coveted, and therefore the most expensive items are those dedicated to the EMS One Katowice 2014 tournament. And this is not because it was the first such tournament, but because an interesting incident happened there.

It turned out that the players of one of the teams at the small tournament CEVO Professional Season 5 bet against themselves. And after that Valve:

  • disqualified the players and the entire team from the tournament;

  • banned them for life from the competition due to their participation in match-fixing.

Together, this effect raised the cost of stickers, and now they can be bought in the range of $5,000 - $50,000.

Many teams ceased to exist after EMS Katowice 2014. For example, the cost of a sticker for the French team 3DMAX increased 25 times after the organization announced the disbandment of a roster that had lasted only eight months.

The same goes for the LGB eSports and Titan stickers - the first organization disbanded in 2015, the second in January 2016. Only the Titan sticker was popular even before the disbandment of the organization: fans liked its monotony. At the same time, the sticker looks great on any weapon.
