If you thought this year's Glastonbury Music Festival's lineup is already complete, well you're wrong because The Pretenders just announced that they would be performing at the event this coming weekend as a surprise act; check out more details below.

Taking to the group's official Instagram account, the band shared a video of what appears to be the venue for the big music event and it seems like they are already rehearsing for the upcoming show.

The band then shared a quote by their frontwoman, Chrissie Hynde, writing "It's always been there for most of our lifetimes. There has never been a festival like it anywhere else."

According to NME, the English-American rock group's set would be at the Park Stage on Saturday, June 24, at 7:45 p.m. BST.

The Pretenders to Perform at Glastonbury Music Festival

This will mark The Pretenders' third time performing at Glastonbury as they previously took the stage in 1994 and 2017.

The outlet also noted that this is not the first time the music event announced last-minute performances as it was already done by several artists in the past like The Libertines, Franz Ferdinand, Lady Gaga, and many more.

Although the band has yet to share more details regarding their setlist, it's safe to assume that they would be performing some of their biggest hits as well as their latest one titled "I Think About You Daily" which is the second single from their new album "Relentless."

In addition to their Glastonbury appearance, the group would also perform with Guns N' Roses as a special act for their show at the BST Hyde Park in London later this month.

Glastonbury Music Festival 2023 — Details

Per the outlet, this year's edition of the Glastonbury Music Festival will be held at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset, on June 21 to 25, 2023.

For those fans who didn't get tickets to watch their favorite artists perform live, over 40 hours of the event would be broadcast by BBC as well as 85 hours of radio live stream.

The event will be headlined by Elton John, Guns N' Roses, and Arctic Monkeys. Other performers include Rick Astley, Lewis Capaldi, Lil Nas X, Lizzo, Hot Chip, Lana Del Rey, and many more.
