Ike Turner Jr., the adoptive son of the late Tina Turner with Ike Turner Sr., was arrested in Alvin, Texas, after being apprehended by authorities in the area. It turns out, the incident took place weeks before Tina Turner even passed away.
The trailblazing icon Tina Turner died on May 24, 2023, in Zurich, Switzerland, after a long battle with diseases and other pre-existing health conditions.
Ike Turner Jr. Arrested
People Magazine confirmed the news that Ike Turner Jr. was arrested on May 6, 2023, days before her estranged mother passed away in Zurich, Switzerland.
At 64, Ike Jr. was arrested in Alvin, Texas, after his taillights and headlights were apparently broken. Upon inspection and investigation, police authorities nabbed 1.7 grams of crack cocaine and .7 grams of methamphetamine. Based on the report, the Grammy Award-winning musician did the unthinkable-he tried to consume the narcotics in an attempt to hide it from authorities.
Police reports say that Ike Turner Jr. "tried to eat the drugs before the officers could seize them from him." He had someone in the passenger seat, Jessica Salinas-Esquivel, whose age and relationship to the driver were not revealed.
She was charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamines) while Ike Turner Jr. was charged with crack cocaine possession and tampering with evidence.
As of this writing, it was not known yet whether Ike Turner Jr. is still in jail for the said crimes.

Ike Turner Jr. and Tina Turner Relationship
Last month, Tina Turner had everyone mourning her painful death. Tributes honoring her memory and legacy have been all over the media-celebrating the life that she lived.
Notably, Ike Jr. and Michael Turner were the only living children of the late music icon. Her sons, Craig died by suicide while Ronnie died of colon cancer. Since relocating to Switzerland and leaving her children behind in the United States, Tina hasn't been talking to Ike and Michael.
It was revealed in a The Daily Mail interview in 2018 that Ike, Jr. has not communicated with Tina since 2000. Until today, neither Ike Jr. nor Michael Turner has spoken about the death of their mother. Tina is not the biological mother of Michael and Ike, she only adopted them due to her marriage to Ike Sr. back in the '60s.
