Tina Knowles Divorce Update: Beyoncé’s Mom Looks Sad, Ditches Wedding Ring

Tina Knowles has been making headlines over the past few days as she reportedly filed for divorce from her former partner, Richard Lawson. More recently, the entrepreneur and mom of Beyoncé was spotted for the first time since the news circulated online.

According to Page Six, the 69-year-old businessowner was photographed at the Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday. At the time, she wore a complete black outfit paired with a Louis Vuitton bag.

The outlet noted that the mom of two has also ditched her wedding ring in the outing. It was unclear where she was headed to.

According to People Magazine, Knowles filed for divorce in July 2023. The two have been married for eight years. The exact reason for their separation is still undetermined but it was cited in the divorce papers that they have "irreconcilable differences."

In addition, Beyoncé's mom also requested for her name to be restored to Celestine Knowles.

The outlet noted that Knowles and Lawson have been friends for nearly three years before they tied the knot in 2015.

The reason why they have been connected for decades was because the fashion designer was friends with his late sister, whom she considered one of her best friends.

In a previous interview, Knowles mentioned that there was a time in her life where she doubted that she would ever find love again, but added that she was determined to be happy.

The pair then dated for four months before deciding to marry each other. Their marriage plans came after her granddaughter, Blue Ivy, told them that they look "beautiful" and asked when they're getting married.

The businesswoman was previously married to Mathew Knowles, the father of Beyoncé and her sister Solange Knowles.

Who is Richard Lawson?

Per the outlet, Lawson has been working in the entertainment industry as an actor, director, and producer. He previously appeared in some of the biggest projects in the past like the original "Poltergeist" movie, "All My Children," and many more.

The actor is also a business owner as he established the Richard Lawson Studios for aspiring actors.

Aside from Knowles, Lawson also has two children named Bianca and Ricky from his previous marriage. He was previously married to Denise Gordy.
