Respect and tributes have been pouring in for O'Shae Sibley, a victim of a senseless crime when a deadly stabbing at a gas station in Brooklyn occurred over the weekend. The police launched an investigation into the case, which was possibly a hate crime.

Beyoncé Honors O'Shae Sibley

On Beyoncé's official website, the 41-year-old crooner uploaded a new banner that says, "REST IN POWER O'SHAE SIBLEY." The words can be seen across the homepage, expressing the singer's heartbreak after the death of the professional dancer.

Sibley went out with his friends at a Brooklyn gas station where he vogued to Beyoncé's "Renaissance" album, and one of his pals, Otis Pena recorded the night out as part of his Facebook Live post. He soon posted the video on Facebook as they seek justice for his best friend.

"They murdered him because he's gay, because he stood up for his friends," Pena said. "His name was O'Shae and you all killed him."

Rolling Stone cited a report from the New York Times detailing the events that led to the killing. According to the post, a group of men approached Sibley and his friends at the gas station Saturday night and started yelling gay slurs at them.

Sibley confronted them, with Pena also telling the men that there "is nothing wrong with being gay." However, it led to an argument, with one of the men stabbing him, causing a wound in the torso.

The police said Sibley was rushed to Maimonides Medical Center but was soon pronounced dead due to the injury he sustained.
