Brett Eldredge confirmed his return to the music industry with exciting news after going on a hiatus for years.

Eldredge took his time to be away from touring and making music, leading fans to ask when he would be releasing a new album. The singer revealed what caused him to be on hiatus in a recent exclusive interview.

Why Did Brett Eldredge Take a Break?

In his exclusive interview with OK! Magazine, the 37-year-old "The Long Way" singer said he took a hiatus to make himself better while also wanting to do normal things.

Instead of giving more of his time on the road, the country star took a breather - which he said had been nice as it allowed him to enjoy his mentally cleansing schedule.

"I'm grateful for all of that too, but it's given me time to work on myself and work on my relationships and grow relationships. It's been amazing," he said.

The singer, who was previously linked to Kelly Clarkson, would team up with Lowe's to have a special Christmas performance at a one lucky home in Nashville.

The country star then hinted at his upcoming music, saying it started growing as a special project. Although he does not know when he will drop it, he expressed how much he wants to let it out as soon as possible.

Brett Eldredge Opens Up About Struggles

While Edredge's break made him love himself and craft even more, he admitted in the same interview that he struggles with expectations occasionally.

Per the "Somethin' I'm Good At" singer, he always wants to make people happy or make his music sound exactly like he wants to. But as he realizes that no one can ever fulfill the expectations completely, he has learned to compose himself through silence and listen to people instead.

"So when it feels right, we'll get the music right," he continued. "When I feel like it's right, and it's really my full heart, I'm gonna bring it to my fans and get it out there in a beautiful way."

Eldredge also told People that they got a lot of things to offer for the upcoming holiday season after previously releasing holiday albums, "Glow" and "Mr. Christmas."
