Lorde's fans thought there was something up when the singer's official website suddenly went down.

The sudden news was brought about by Pop Crave, a news account on X (formerly known as Twitter; however, as of this writing, though, the website is now back online and running.)

Fans really thought that Lorde must have taken the website down as some kind of hint that she is releasing new music soon.

Artists coming up with gimmicks in preparation for a new album roll out is nothing new these days; many have dropped easter eggs in their Instagram posts, announcements, music videos, and even their website, just like what Paramore did before the release of their recently released album, "This is Why."

Unlike other artists who are known to drop hints and clues about upcoming releases, Lorde is not one for the gimmicks. Her website simply went down, and when it went back up, there was nothing new.

Lorde's New Music

Lorde has, on several occasions, talked about upcoming music releases, but did not specify much. The "Royals" singer is keeping much information close to her chest.

"No this is not the start of anything out there," the singer said before. "Just want you to know there's a light on inside me .. show it to you soon."

The last time Lorde released an album was back in 2021 with her third studio album "Solar Power," four years after the release of her sophomore album, "Melodrama."

Back in August, Lorde surprised fans by performing several new unreleased songs during the Broadmasters Festival in Cornwall in the United Kingdom.

According to reports, the songs, dubbed as "Silver Moon" and "Invisible Ink" are demo tracks, and their official titles are yet to be officially revealed.

Lorde's Fans Rejoice

Fans are thrilled to see that the "Green Light" singer's official website went down, because to them, it is enough indication that Lorde is up to something.

"Oh she is coming," a fan wrote.

"We're so ready."

"She's cooking," another wrote.

"League shattering information."

On the other hand, some netizens could not care any less about the information and even bashed the singer.

"I thought her career was too," a netizen wrote, referring to the website going down.

"Who cares?" Another added.

As of this writing, though, the New Zealand native is yet to disclose whether she is in fact working on new music or not; fans would have to wait a while longer.
