Britney Spears' supporters felt "off" when several stars expressed their interest in producing a screen adaptation of her newly released memoir "The Woman in Me."

Among the A-listers who voiced their interest in sharing the "Oops I Did It Again" singer's memoir are Reese Witherspoon, Brad Pitt, and Margot Robbie, reports say.

However, the singer's fans expressed their concerns over the screen adaptation, they noted that the producers are seeking to profit from Spears yet again.

"Why are they trying to profit off of her abuse?" One asked.

"They said 'we need to exploit Britney even more.'"

"Britney Spears seeing the vultures coming for her," another added.

Among the top three contenders for the screen adaptation, netizens felt like Pitt was the least deserving to produce Spears' life story.

Britney Spears Reluctant of Memoir's Screen Adaptation?

According to reports, Spears rescheduled a meeting with a producer about her memoir's screen adaptation "at the last minute" because she "didn't feel up to it."

Apparently, the "Womanizer" singer felt "overwhelmed" by the response to her memoir, which detailed her experiences following her sudden rise to superstardom during her teenage years.

There are already talks that bids are currently going on for the rights to begin the screen adaptation of Spears' story, but her fans seemingly have decided that Pitt should not be anywhere near the production.

"Brad Pitt? Absolutely not. We saw what he did to Marilyn Monroe with blonde."

"A man should be nowhere near the forefront in the creative direction of this. Call me biased all you want," another added.

Britney Spears 'The Woman in Me'

Succeeding the release of "The Woman in Me" came the success as well as the negative and demeaning jokes.

According to reports, "Saturday Night Live" had a skit about the newly released memoir and its accompanying audiobook.

While some found the skit hilarious, Spears' manager found it distasteful and "pathetic."

"Wow. The writers of SNL are getting worse and worse. No wonder you all reached out to me to get Britney on the show... SNL is on life support," wrote Cade Hudson.

"You all are pathetic and this Chloe isn't funny. Did you find her on Craigslist or something?"

The audiobook version of the memoir was narrated by Michelle Williams, and has sold over a million copies in the first week of its release.
