With "The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes" taking flight at the domestic and international box office, many people on the internet are glued not only to the revelation that is Tom Blyth but also to the charismatic lead star Rachel Zegler and the charming Josh Andrés Rivera.
Unbeknownst to many, Rivera and Zegler are a couple in real life. Although their characters do not really interact much in the film, they do so behind the cameras and behind closed doors.

According to People Magazine, Rachel Zegler and Josh Andrés Rivera likely met during the screen test and casting process of Steven Spielberg's "West Side Story." Zegler famously played Maria while Rivera was cast as Chino.
As the production of the highly-anticipated film continued, their relationship blossomed as well. During the press tour, fans got a pretty good whiff that the two were getting closer as Zegler had posted photos of them together.
During the red-carpet premieres, Zegler, although she has to be beside Ansel Elgort most of the time, Rivera can be spotted looking affectionately at the actress on many occasions.
To top it all off, Zegler and Rivera spent Christmas Eve together in December 2021.
"spending christmas eve with a man i have never met before, maybe you know him, he seems pretty cool- like he could be the love child of iron man and john wick, idk though," Zegler wrote on Instagram with a picture of her hugging Rivera.
The Valentine's Day that came after, Zegler and Rivera seemingly confirmed the dating rumors with a Valentine's snap of the two of them in dinner together.
The couple then made it red-carpet official when Rivera came with Zegler on the Academy Award, Grammy Awards, and the "Shazam! Fury of the Gods" red carpets.
The two were then announced to be playing Lucy Gray Baird (Zegler) and Sejanus Plinth (Rivera) in the movie adaptation of "The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes."

Who is Josh Andrés Rivera?
Born in Puerto Rico, Josh Andrés Rivera shot to fame when he was cast as the unpredictable Chino in "West Side Story" along with Ansel Elgort, Rachel Zeglor, Ariana Debose, and Rita Morena.
He was also included on the original company of the first nation tour of "Hamilton." He was also in the indie film "Cat Person" and is set to play Aaron Hernandez in "American Sports Story" in 2024.
